I know it wasn’t popular at the time, but Negan does have a good character arc. He does do some good in the future, in his own way. Not everyone agrees, but I think he does

I would find it weird if nobody WAS against his choice. But, as we know, this group doesn't stick to plans.

2025-03-15 07:47:51 +0000 UTCThank god the saviours arc is over 😭 I actually quit the show after this season and took a long time to give 9 a chance Season 9 is a new showrunner and writing, and so good lol. You'll probably forget about most of this season in a while except that finale.. Bit of a depressing trivia abt Dwights ending. He was original written to die during this season by being pushed off a roof by Negan but during the filming of the scene his stunt double missed the safety mat and sadly passed. That made them scrap his death and just have him be sent away. So much wrong with this era from the writing to crew safety it's sad. It's also thought that Morgan was supposed to die too instead of Carl, that's why he built the cell and his arc of "all life is precious" coming back around to inspire sparing negan since carl was very in favour of killing him until the last minute he flipped. Plus the way they handled Carl's death with his actor was also very abrupt and shitty and purely done to avoid paying him an adult wage. This era was exhausting lol but it's only up from here and season 9 sets the bar pretty high.

I understand Maggie wanting justice for her husband’s death, but I also understand Rick wanting to honor his dying/dead son’s last wishes.

But you should for a little bit (whatever that translates to) before starting the next chapter. Let this S8 ending to “All Out War” sit in your heads to process, as it was for those of us who watched it in real time in 2018. And then, be ready to move forward for what is S9 (especially the first handful that you might consider binging more back-to-back as you’re able).
