What this episode does well is to show that no matter what they do, it will never be enough for Negan. It never ends. And there always be someone or some thing that Negan doesn’t find acceptable. Yes, you had multiple things happening - Carl sneaking to sanctuary and killing people, Rosita getting the gun/bullet and firing it at Negan, Spencer being slimy and not reading the room correctly. But that same component hasn’t been explored at this point in other communities, except Hilltop that folded after Saviors killed a teenager. But Rick and crew, while still phased by Glenn/Abraham/lineup would always fight. That’s just who they are. And now they’re starting to realize it’s the only option. They had to be taken down from top arrogance, to rock bottom, to start rising back up again with some humility.
