Oh, and yes you did see the time cops previously. They were in Season 1 or 2 when Morty and Summer were "uncertain" causing their realities to split. The credit scene was the time cops beating up Einstein telling him not to mess with time.

2025-01-06 21:48:27 +0000 UTCSo Dan Harmon swore for years they would never do time travel despite people constantly asking them to do it, because you always wind up writing yourself into a paradox or nonsensical solution. This episode was a big tongue in cheek joke about that and how it just gets incredibly messy with paradoxes and plot holes. Like when the snakes start using time travel to go back and stop the assassination of Snake Lincoln, and then when they try and kill Snake Hitler, every time a snake would come back another future snake would come back and try and stop them. That's why you just saw hundreds of snakes popping out trying to stop whatever the other was doing, because if there was time travel why wouldn't another person with access to it just try and stop you from changing it? lol. Also Jerry yelling "I AM THE JESUS CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS" was ridiculously Jerry. Snake jazz, do you love it?
