I think that's fair -- In the moment, just looking at his decisions, it's hard to understand. But when you stack everything on top of one another and list everything he's been through together, it's easy to see how broken one would be. Watching the show, it's always hard to take that step back for perspective, but this is super helpful! Appreciate that!

2024-12-29 00:49:30 +0000 UTCI’m probably going to get crap for this but I still believe to this day that Carl is the most broken character out of the Atlanta group, put aside the losses that Maggie and Sasha had or Rick losing Lori and killing his own best friend, Carl is a kid, trauma hits so hard at such a young age, he found out his dad killed a man he saw as an Uncle due to how close his Dad was to him, like think about being a kid again and finding out your dad killed his best friend you’d be so conflicted, and then having to look at your mom in the face and pull the trigger to kill her before she turns, a woman who nurtured you for so long, she brought you into the world and loved you and you had to take her out of the world to show her mercy, to keep her from turning, he killed another kid, dude was probably 18 maybe even 17 but still, Carl was so conflicted with the teachings of Shane and his dad he just felt he had to kill that kid or the same thing that happened to his mom would happen to someone else, he almost lost his dad and believed Judith died at the prison, a kid his age going through so much trauma, he desperately needed Denise before she met her unfortunate demise back in season 6, I use to dislike him but then realized he’s just trying to understand that world and he’s getting older and maturing but he still has his moments like back when he found walker Deanna roaming around outside the walls and Enid asks him “what’s wrong with you?” And he says “you wouldn’t understand” dude had to watch Glenn and Abraham get beaten to death, almost got his arm cut off by his own dad smh kid really is a bad ass
