re: the fourth of july

i want to take a moment to address something important today, especially with the fourth of july being a day where so many celebrate “freedom.” i can’t sit here and pretend like everything is fine when, in reality, i’m living in a country where freedom isn’t something everyone gets to experience equally.
as someone with a platform, i feel it’s my responsibility to speak out against the injustice happening around us. i condemn the united states government for its increasingly oppressive actions, especially with the rise of fascism creeping into our laws and policies. this is not the freedom that the country was supposed to stand for.
just look at the recent attacks on immigrants: unlawful ICE raids and anti-immigrant legislation designed to terrorize marginalized communities. these are not acts of patriotism, they’re acts of cruelty and division. and let’s not forget the passing of the so-called “big beautiful bill,” which is literally taking healthcare away from millions of americans, most of whom are already living on the margins. these are not just political moves; they’re stripping away the very rights and dignities of the people who need them most.
so, while others may celebrate today, i’m choosing to use my platform to call attention to the very real struggles that continue to be ignored. i will always stand for justice, for human rights, and for those who are being silenced. we need to keep fighting, speaking up, and demanding more for those who are being left behind.
thank you for standing with me and for using your voices to make the world a better place. we have a responsibility to keep pushing forward, especially when the government and the systems in place are failing us. let’s not forget who we’re truly fighting for.

Social, environmental, science, education and art programs canceled. Millions losing healthcare. Increase in already out of control military spending. they eliminated funding for wind and solar energy and the big ugly bill gives oil companies everything they want, Tax breaks to the rich. Orange clown told his fanbase they will never have to vote again and that he won't leave after his second term. Now he wants to do a UFC fight on the white house lawn because it's a roman coliseum and he thinks he's Caesar apparently. I stand with Avalie 🤗
