Important PSA: Discord

Just a preemptive warning; with the Discord usernames update, a Discord "Partner" sniped the handle I have on Twitter and tumblr (@koyoriin), and based on the way they set their display name as "Koyorin" and they were using a picture they thought I might use (a picture of Lucy from Edgerunners, which I would not actually use lol), they likely intend to impersonate me. However, their account was made in August 2022 and they have no official social media links or anything of that ilk.
My actual Discord (koyorin) is from 2016 and has my official Twitter linked; in addition I have my old Discord account's badge (Koyorin#4570) displayed publicly on there. Friend requests are off to avoid getting requests en masse once I have to share this message publicly, but I just wanted to share this here to Patrons ahead of time so they know that there may be someone posing as me out there.
Discord support refused to offer any help until damage has already been done and requires specific offending message links to be filed with the report, so I haven't been able to do anything about it yet.

Very much so, this whole thing has been nothing but an unmitigated disaster that was also extremely pointless. Furthermore, Discord clearly has no intent of solving any issues that its end users are experiencing, so they've been brushing people off with a combination of automated responses and template ones, while redirecting people to a form that requires an actual incident to have occurred beforehand; which could even be irreparable damage.

2023-06-13 12:59:50 +0000 UTCYeah, as soon as they announced it I knew this would happen to a lot of people, and myself included. The fact that I was even able to get "koyorin" was a miracle to me, though now while trying to get Discord to help me prevent some impersonation disaster with the other one, it's evident they don't care enough about their end users to offer any assistance. The only option they've provided (when I'm not being brushed off by template responses) involves a) waiting for an incident to occur and b) having a link to said incident in the form of a message directly.
