Can't remember if you guys have seen Apollo 13 but if you want a slow burner where everything goes wrong, that's your target π€£ I saw this in the theater and that animal cracker shit was just as stupid then too.

This movie was in direct competition with Armageddon. I prefer Deep Impact. To me, it had more heart. Even though, Armageddon had more fun. Still, it's worth a view just for the comparison.

And yeah once they go into space its nonstop action, which to me is a good thing and a bad thing. It doesn't really let you breathe for a moment and I think that's the intent but when you do that it's hard to let some things soak in, like the deaths or even what's going on. And I also wish that the characters took it a bit more seriously before going up there. They treated going to space like it was just a road trip, lol. I do really enjoy them though, they are fun and all are very likable, which does make it really sad when we do lose one of them. This cast was stacked, I'm glad actors like William Fichtner (Sharp) got quite a bit of screen time, most people usually recognize him but doesn't know his name and he is so good, same with Will Patton. You might remember him as the other coach from Remember the Titans. He always managers to come off so likable. The scenes with his son is so sweet, I wish though we got more of it, I mean we didn't even know he had a kid until he goes to see him. Maybe have him talk about him to Harry or something. And man I miss Michael Clark Duncan, he always gave it his all and we lost him way too soon at 54 years old. I'm also glad you watched another Bruce Willis movie, with his health declining who knows how long we'll have him. My aunt had the same condition he does so I know all about it, it's very sad. But at least we have movies like these to look back on and the Harry character is written so believably well. Yeah, there are also quite a bit of cringy moments that doesn't really hold up like it did when it first came out. Honestly, to me what makes the animal cracker scene so cringy is not the dialog, which it is but it's the fact they are having this intimate moment while Liv Tyler's father is singing in the background, lol. And the scene when he sings and picks her up is so awkward. If they were alone that's one thing but they were in front of everybody, including her dad, just a bit weird, lol. At least you know now where the movie Superstar got it from, lol. It's played out almost exactly the same. But this is such an entertaining movie.
