Little Shop was an up and coming writers first show that was low budget but showed potential. Rocky Horror was like the indie film that only became popular as it got cult classic status over the years. Sweeney Todd was the big budget blockbuster made by the Spielberg or Scorsese equivalent in the musical theater world. It was expected to be and it was a huge success. I hope you try some other musicals in the future. Now that we know what you like we can guide you to one’s you don’t hate. Hairspray and the new version of West Side Story where you have a movie version of a musical by the writer of Sweeney Todd actually directed by Spielberg are two examples that come to mind. Thanks for doing the musical week. This was a lot of fun.
