Development Diary #66

The v0.22 was already published some days ago, we've also made the v0.16 public and we've had some days to rest our tired brains (lol)...

So, we are back to work. In fact, we're already working on the main character girl of the nation of Eldrien (if someone still doesn't know, here it goes: Elves!)

During this time we've also thought a lot about the content on the new update. We can say that in the previous updates we've been working quantity and also quality, but being honest, a bit more focused on the quantity (because we felt that it was what the game needed the most).

But after receiving the feedback of the 0.22 and the 0.16 we felt it is time to work a bit more focused on improving some stuff of the game. The most of it you already pointed out. What would we like to work on for the next update?


-Army battles. We started working on an alternative system, with less text and a bit more interactivity. We believe that in the battles it's better to see than read. Basically more choosing and managing which troops and whick skills, and less decisions during the battle. Once it's done, you'll test it and you will decide which system is the best one.

-Currency. Until now, your army was always full HP on each battle. Now if you lose men, you will have to recruit troops in the cities. The more ally countries, the more income you'll receive.

-Affection system. It's better than v0.16, but we'd like to add a store in every city where you can buy gift for the girls, or even upgrades for your troops.

-Training Sexual Stamina. This is something we wanted to add on the previous update, but we didn't have enough time. Nulkan will be able to improve his endurance with "a special training". Some of you noticed that Gifrix was harder than Misha, and Ione harder than Gifrix. Our plan is that Nulkan won't be able to win against stronger succubi if he doesn't train his endurance. And again, here how you spend you action points in the camp will decide which content you'll be able to unlock or not.

-Map routes. Until now the plot was linear. Now that we're working on Eldrien we are able to make you decide where you want to go from Yalen. If you look at the map, you should be able to go to Eldrien or Nocverchis, so update after update you’ll have more freedom. That's not really relevant right now, as these are alpha versions an all that, but it will be important on the final game.

-Nulkan corruption/hornyness level. We don't want to give many details about this but... what would happen if Nulkan is aroused as fuck and he's not releaving "the corruption" inside him? We want to try some things in this way, but it’s a relatively new idea so we still have to think about it :P

-Dynae. Ok, at this point the most of you already now that things with Dynae now are... different. But we felt that after that we didn't give you many options to enjoy some time with her (nothing lewd.) And soon we’ll do the same with Izuin. After all, they are you girls, aren’t they?

There're more improvements here and there, but those are the most relevant.

Of course, we're also adding new stuff. Likely we'll add half of the Eldrien plot, new girl Yraselle, new army battle (let's hope with the new battle system), new H-scenes with some of the previous girls, increase the max level to 9 for one of them (that means new interesting options with her...), and add the remaining animations for the 3rd succubus battle.

We really think all these changes should make the game more enjoyable. We like text and narrative part of the game so far, but we think the players should be able to play a little bit more after the prologues, and read a little bit less.

“A special training”? Excitement detected, is there more to this special training or is that too much of a spoiler to give? Btw, you’re doing a great job, the passion, effort, and extra features your adding to the game makes being a patreon so worth it, being able to see everything unfold slowly is amazing.

Yeah, about challenge/difficulty we also think that's to way to follow. Just think that you are on zone 1, and battle against 3rd succubus is already harder than first fight with Misha. After each zone battles and succubi will make things harder. A bit of challenge is always good, but we'll try to avoid frustrating battles. We are not worried about that anyway, this is something we'll be balancing with your feedback, guys :) About gifts, we think spending some money to get a little faster some good extra XP points makes things a bit less grindy. We also want to add more situations where you should make a choice and that decision will give you a little boost of XP for a specific girl. You will have to collect XP points anyway, but giving many options to get them makes things a bit more enjoyable imo :) if it's not enough, we'll keep working on it. And finally, that's what will happen. There will be a succubus per nation. In the alphas it will be easy to visit different countries without much trouble, but our intention is that you'll have to choose a path, not visiting everyone, and the events that trigger succubi fights for now are not that hard to find. This will become zone after zone a little more hidden and a bit more tricky.

Couple thoughts: I think some more visuals with the battles could be good, but I'm really hoping to see a difficulty step in future ones. The last battle where you had to inflict minimal casualties was a good start, and I actually read a few people that were losing until they actually went back and read what they were supposed to do. Similar point for the sex battles, I enjoyed the higher difficulty because I was shocked when I actually just lost for the first time. I think awarding different amounts of points for different areas is a good start, but to follow that up it could be good if those zones change depending on how turned on the succubus is. As long as you have time to figure it out so it isn't just a 'load game simulator' to win. Will the gifts etc make the affection a bit less grindy? That was my biggest gripe with the current system. Finally, I think it would be fun if there were succubus battles that you could entirely miss if you didn't go to a specific area, as soon as the game opens up more.
