MAC: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jdtdjyzejsmx7f8/Shuggerlain-0.10-mac.zip/file

IMPORTANT: This is the prologue PART 2. If you haven't played the part 1, here's the link:

https://www.patreon.com/posts/shuggerlain-v-0-36658043

The complete changelog was posted on the previous development diary: https://www.patreon.com/posts/development-57-39920869

Installation: Just extract and play. You'll need Winzip, Winrar, 7z, Peazip or similar software to extract the file in case you don't have any of these.

Some stuff to take into account:

-This update finishes the prologue, the most linear part of the game. Even though there's more freedom than in the previous update, the next one will have a similar freedom as in Space Paws. Prologues just want to set out the plot :)

-The battle system has been changed. Consider them an improved and more complex system than Space Paws' final quizzes.

-There's no gallery yet. It will be added very soon. Tip: save in the H-scene.

-There's a hidden sexy event with a furry lynx. If you finish the update an didn't see it, it means you didn't do what was needed to find her.

-Very likely there'll be an android build.

Likely we'll add eventually in Extras some kind of music section. On the other hand we didn't add the credits yet. There you'll find all the name and author of the tracks we use. Glad you like it the game so far :)

Taifun Riders

Awesome job on this! And very good music as well just as in Space paws. I hope to see this game expand into resource management and what not as well when ya finally gain enough of a foothold to form the start of The Empire of Ashtera plus the RPG element ya have as well. I love seeing those two combined and I hope to see y'all make it happen here as well! I'd also love to see a way to get the music y'all got in the game. Not sure if it'd be an OST or not. And May I just add. That ending was simply beautiful and I can not wait for the next update!

That amazing track was created by Ikoliks https://audiojungle.net/item/sexy/26739260

Taifun Riders

Love the progress you have made!! I was wondering if there was a resource to listen to the track playing during the H-Scene with Misha? Excellent music!!!

IrviJai13

Amazing work so far just like Space Paws keep up the good work

Patrick

This is great, im looking forward to what's coming.. Love your work, go on like that. Thank you ^^

Ente

Thank you so much. We just try to do our best :) And don't worry. Action with Saraith starts very soon

Taifun Riders

Great job ! Real step up since SP (story, arts, mechanics, musics,...). I loved SP for the h-scenes (and the cool story in bonus) while I love Shuggerlain for the story (and the amazing h-scenes in bonus). Can't explain my mind better than that :) Keep up the great job and I hope Saraith will also receive some love soon.

Hecatonchire

Thanks! Happy to know you enjoyed it :) 2 positions in a h-scene is only for the special ones. Now all the hscenes have two different cameras, that is more than space paws scenes had. There'll be more of Misha soon, and OF COURSE! Nadine will receive some love soon, it would be a crime not to.

Taifun Riders

Played through...even the menu music is great. Would have been kinda nice to slight more variation on this main sex scene like facial expressions and even 1 or 2 more varying position kinda like the other one, but otherwise was just as fantastic. Compared to Space Paws, this is really becoming a huge step up. Cant wait for more scenes to be finished with Misha(? fox girl) and Nadine if that ever happens. Both super cute, art is fantastic.

Thanks for the complete feedback! Some comments: You can actually go back on the H-scenes. The H-scenes are built more or less with a natural progression but players can go back just clicking on the "back" button that renpy adds by default on the bottom left side of the screen. We'll try to disable it on some parts of the game, but not in the H-scenes. We'll see if that's possible in ren'py. There're 3 phases, but not each turn. It's more like there're 10 questions. 7of these questions are tactic and 3 of them are combat. And after every single question, there's a skill phase. It's true that Combat and Tactic phases are pretty similar, but at the same time they're not the same. Tactic questions will have 3 options, but combat phases, as the game evolves, will have as many options as different units in Nulkan's army. We'll see if we call them the same anyway. About Dynae, well she feels quite attracted to Nulkan and right now in the plot they're a great couple, they complement each other in combat, they sexually feel attracted to each other...how the heck will we make Nulkan to be able to date other girls in this situation without cheating on Dynae? :) Just let the plot keep advancing a little more. About the art. I played several Visual Novels where they did exactly this. Visual Novels are not always showing every detail that the narrative part is saying. It's true that, for example the tavern or Littanos streets need people (it's something we already did that way with Lacertan Bar and Roselyn's square). Maybe we abused a little bit of this, but that's because this update took a little bit more than we expected. Adding all those details would have taken practically an extra month of development. So we feel that the best option was what we did. Release now and add some minor improvement here and there update after update, as we did in Space Paws. Glad you like the girls. Don't worry too much anyway, there'll be a lot of them! So it's easy that most of the player will have a good bunch of favourite ones. Again thanks for the feed, we're happy you enjoyed the update and that you also see the potential of this game :)

Taifun Riders

Wow Taifun knocks it out of the park again!! I loved playing this prologue, seems like if this is just the prologue, we might be in for a very long game, which excites me! Comments and criticisms: To add to The Polish's point on H-scenes, it seems like there's the click to advance, but no option to go back to certain actions to make the H-scenes more fluid with what the player is feeling and last longer overall. The battle phases seemed a little confusing, since we're told that there will be three phases each turn, but it seems that skill phase comes up every other phase, and sometimes it will say it is combat phase, but Dynae is saying something, which means it would be tactics phase. Seems like both tactics and combat phases are based on choices, maybe those phases could be combined in some way, that way the story doesn't need Dynae and her foresight ability at all times just to make battles work. That could potentially open up the story in new ways if Dynae isn't always there. Two things that kinda got on my nerves, and one of them is....Dynae. If you're going for a clingy character, then she definitely fits, and you're making the right choice in the writing. Personally, I don't like the clingy types, (Kor Beatrix was my least favorite in Space Paws) it seems like Dynae is too clingy, especially just in a few days in the prologue. If she stays this way and says she only wants us to have sex with her...she's gonna get her heart broken by every single person that plays the game hahaha. The second thing was the background art. There is no one in the streets of the town. A bunch of people laugh in this busy tavern but it's only you and Fredric. When Nulkan is jumping onto the balcony, there is no balcony to see. When you're in the cave, there are no egg-shaped rocks scattered on the floor. When you're on the battlefield, there's no rock for Dynae to crush before the tutorial, and there are no bodies or arrows or shields scattered on the battlefield. So I guess I'm saying the background art with zero people and no context makes this epic story feel stale and disconnected, when there are supposed to be bustling towns and vast armies, and we should see things as Nulkan sees them. When Nulkan says he sees a balcony to jump to and three dead bodies, I'd at least like to see the balcony, and not be looking up at the big blue sky. The lack of these story and worldbuilding details in the art took me right out of the game. Maybe that's just a prologue thing, and the art is still beautiful, but the art should match the story too. That's enough criticism though. Even though most of the polls for the girls didn't go my way, they look super good, way better than I was expecting. Especially Misha, I did NOT like what everybody voted for, but now that I see her in-game, she might be my favorite girl so far. I am really excited to see what comes next when the game really opens up, because this game has huge potential! Thank you Taifun! You guys are the best! <3

Just went through my first playthrough. Of course I missed the Misha sex battle and had to go back and do that part again to get it. My thoughts fall in line with The Polish (Who hit the points perfectly) so I won't say anything about it. Now for the praise. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the H-Scenes. Beautifully done. Characters are well flushed out. I really think Nadine is very cute (Hope we get to rock her world between the sheets) and Fredric is exactly what I expected (Still think he should be God somehow) and I hope to see more of his exposition story telling. Music is amazing! Really set the tone for each scene. I love the story so far and am excited to see what happens next. Keep up the good work!

Dandorian

Thanks for the feed! Well, basically we agree with practically everything. Some comments anyway: There won't be more "click to advance" in the H-scenes. Skills will explain its effects We though about just being able to activate a skill once per skill phase. Maybe when the game has more characters, we'll add longer cooldowns. We'll see how well all this works. Yup, that "back" button is an easy cheat but we allowed it in this update as some kind of tutorial. First time you all see these mechanics. We'll definetely disable it and soon. Sex battles: Misha is the easiest opponent you'll confront. Next girls will be more challenging. Some girls may just hate (let's say) kiss neck attack, so that would increase their hp instead of decreasing it. Something like that. Glad you like the world we're building. We're pretty happy with the game, eventhough it's just the prologue so far :)

Taifun Riders

So, having played it, here's my thoughts thus far: Having the "click to continue" message pop up during sex scenes I feel is unnecessary and quite frankly annoying, most people will figure it out, now that you can click anywhere as opposed to just one small icon Hovering over skills should tell you what they do. I think skills should be on a cooldown, nothing (except from fever) keeps you from using a skill multiple times in a row and it'd make sense for a hero class to feel "exhausted" after using a skill, alternatively, allow them to use it but have it impact the fight in a different way, for example Dynae not being able to as accurately determine what's going on, however I see that that would add a lot more work to figure out, but it's an idea. Too easy to just press "back" on a sub par decision and just get the best option that way; no consequences for bad decisions, also can be circumvented by saving, but less convenient. Rollback feature is general is great however. Sex battles; interesting concept, like that they're treated as a sort of collectable. And with the prior explanation they make sense, however they're too easy rn, it's just "do the new options". Would be interesting if there were options that didn't work or even negatively impacted your opponent. I'm going to assume we'll see the people we free later on, but just to make it clear: I want to meet the people we free again at some point, maybe sprinkled here and there every now and then, hopefully more than once. Might be useful to have a shirt section where you tell the people the controls, such as Ctrl to skip, H to hide the text box etc. I'm so happy the menu music loops now, it's such a good piece. Really like where this is going both feature wise and lore wise, this world has enraptured me and I want to see more of it. I will be awaiting the further developments with barely contained excitement.

The Polish

Fantastic! The battle sequence was nothing short of epic! The music, the tactical analyzes, I am greatly anticipating future releases.

AllForOne

In order to help you we need more info: Did you extract the .zip file? What is exactly happening? Is there any message? Is the screen showing up and the closing? Which version of OS do you use? We currently don't have any mac to check what's exactly happening. You can also try to move the .app to you mac applications folder and try to run it from there. This helped people with similar problems.
