Spaceship rework - Main character's room

Now it's time for the MC's room. As the corridor, there're some blue lights, a fixed perspective, some dumbbells.... What's the blue thing in the corner? It's a bosu ball! haha, don't worry it's not an easter egg or something like that, you don't have to use it.Like we did before, we attach this pic and the old room. This way you can compare them ;)

Hope you like it guys!

Hi mike! Thanks for your words! In fact, the art style was found with the 2nd Planet, and these reworks are the way that the whole game look like with the same art style as the cat's planet. What will be different on the 3rd and 4th planet are the themes, but not the art style. Each one will have their own theme (medieval dogs, egyptian cats...??) Despite these rework are necessary in our opinion, we don't want to delay the development of the game, so we'll make a couple of them for every update, not more (spaceship is a bit easier to rework than the market for example, so probably all the rooms will be reworked on this update).

I think uniformity of design is important for continuity. Really, if elements of a game differ too greatly, it gives the game a jarring quality. I've played a lot of games, of different types and designs, and the very best have a uniform artistic style. Although, pushing the game ahead, might seem attractive in relation to the final release, reworking the game to incorporate the new style would have to be done prior to this anyway. Now is the time to make such changes, because as time progresses, changes to the mechanics and/or style become more difficult and time consuming. Work through them now so that you can spend your time developing the other planets. As usual, this rework looks very good! Hakuna Matada, dudes :D

You will find with time your artwork evolves and your style changes. That is one difficulty with a project of this magnitude. It needs to have a uniform language that brings it together. You did a much better job redesigning this space. Now you exterior of the ship will need to change aswell. But I would like to (as a fellow designer and artist) caution against making the first world like the second. It would likely be a much better use of time to make it like the third. However I'm aware of the rework you have done of the town etc. And it is good work. The depth light and vibrancy and scale makes the space and thus the game seem larger. I just caution against locking yourself to the nebet style when you may want to explore more with the vixens etc.

Love that you guys are going so hard in the paint to make sure everything has a uniform style and quality across the game. It might be the "boring" work compared to some of the other stuff, but it's necessary none the less, and I love it. Keep it up!

Eric
