Greetings Adventurers!
As promised, I'm releasing the 4th and final map of this month early due to me being away on travel for the remainder of the week. This is our last Vampire themed map voted on by the community. I'll be posting up the poll for May's Map Theme tomorrow morning, so if you have any suggestions on what you'd like to add to the poll, get those in either here or in our Discord channel.
The base map releasing to the Barbarian tier takes us down deeper into the inner dwellings of the vampire estate. This staircase hugs the stone wall as it traverses downward into what seems like a darkened abyss. Beams, ropes, and chains hang from various points of this spiral, each with their own story to tell with statues rising from the hell that surely rests beneath. The path downward is quite narrow, only spacing about 10 feet across so battles here will be filled with anxiety as one wrong step and you'll surely be rolling a Dexterity Check.
The Death Knight tier will be getting a variant that adds in a bit more color and brings a more eerie feeling to this map. The eyes of the various statues are now lit up, and a strong green glow now emanates from the darkness below. Whatever lives down there is also awakened and you can see their glowing eyes shine through the void. There's more wear and tear throughout this map and if you look closely, you're not alone as various creatures keep a watchful eye on your movements. Throw some eerie atmospheric sound and you have yourself a horror encounter that will be sure to leave a lasting impression on your players.
The Necromancer and Legend tiers will be getting a compass crafted by the artist CΓ©sar Ayala and authored by myself. The Necromancer tier will be getting the compass artwork by itself with a transparent background while the Legend tier will be getting the "Compass of Comprehension." This compass is fueled by the attuned user's desire to locate a variety of different things, so use it wisely. The Legend tier will also be receiving this item in digital card files.
I had an extremely fun time making all of the Vampire themed maps this month so I hope you all can find a use for them in your campaigns. Thank you all so much for your continued support and keep an eye out for the May Map Theme poll! Have a great week and stay safe everyone. Until next time, may your Dexterity Checks always remain high!
