River Garrison - Release

Greetings Adventurers!

After last week's release of the Town Market, we are shifting this week back over to the military side of things. As requested by this community's Patrons, I worked up a River Garrison to hold unwanted visitors at bay!

The base map releasing to the Barbarian tier takes place in the middle of the day. Once again you can see the sun shining it's light onto the river water below. When creating this particular map, I wanted to include both views of inside and on top of the garrison. The left side of the map is primarily an inside view containing sections of the garrison like a small port, check-in area, supply room, and barracks for the guards. The right side shows what the top of the garrison looks like, lined with cannons (which you can also see sticking out from the left side) ready to take down any hostile arrivals. Below, you can see a staging area inside the garrison where cannon balls and highly explosive accessories are stored. Hopefully nothing sparks up in this room... The center which connects both sides is the bridge with a very heavy metal gate which can only be lifted by the lever located at the middle of the bridge.

The Death Knight tier was created with a couple of ideas thrown around by the Patrons. I settled on a night scene that includes a very large sea serpent making it's way down the river. This would be a perfect opportunity for a monster battle to engage your players with. Additionally, you will notice the water level has drawn back some, revealing the remains of many skeletons along the now revealed shore lines. Let this be a warning to all unwanted invaders!

The Necromancer and Legend tiers will be getting a shield crafted (and authored) by the very talented artist and Dungeon Master: Matt Pegoraro. The Necromancer tier gets the shield artwork by itself with a transparent background while he designed the "Meteor Shield" for the Legend tier. This shield is considered very rare and is all ready for use in an upcoming D&D session as you see fit.

I hope you all enjoy this map and create some amazing memories at this River Garrison! Next week, we'll shift back to the final town/city theme for the month and then begin polling for December map themes! It's crazy how fast this month has flown by!
