To conclude the Smoker VS Luffy fight, Smoker would have won easily without even getting a single injury if dragon didn't interrupt.

This was just the starter teaser of The King of World building anime! What I love about One Piece is that it continues to get better and better. Even in the later episodes I was continued to be shocked. Especially by a single event I would never though would happen in a serie, but something that apparently was a deep twist between morbid and comedy sense of humor that only I though I had.

I know there is a battle between do and don’t watch filler but I personally think you should, simply because every feel good moment in the fillers helps build an emotional connection to the Characters, one piece is at its best when you don’t rush and just enjoy the ride😁

In this episode Dragon didn't interrupt as much as he SAVED Luffy's life there, Luffy was way underpowered for that fight, there is no way he can beat smoker at this point in the story

Please skip the filler there is a lot of ground to cover here and it really ads nothing, I'd rather you see their journey to get to the Grand Line next week than waste 4 streams on filler

I don’t plan on skipping any mixed canon stuff. The list I was sent I believe are all 100 percent filler stuff that I would ask you guy’s beforehand to skip or not

I say watch filler, honestly won't take much time. Literally 3-5 episodes inbetween arcs, like people said they have mixed cannon episodes and some of the fillers can be entertaining, your choice though.

Hm... not sure why everyone is talking about skipping the fillers... I feel like most of them are quite good, some are meh, but why not try to watch/react and see how it goes. If you feel that filler is not good - then yes, skip, but otherwise, a lot of emotional moments are hidden in those fillers.

This is the most accurate answer about witch part of those episodes are canon

how about you watch the filler in your own time because in the future arc there are some episode that have mentioned some people and things from the previous filler. It can be used as additional information. :D

i could say that too. It is a weird half to half filler and arc but it still kinda good to watch.

I also always forget how long this one actually as. Most fillers arcs are only 2-4 episodes. This one's 7... and a half. And even though its not smack in the middle of an arc (some filler arcs do that and its annoying every time), it has the same problem of disrupting the flow of the story, since Nami made it pretty clear that the entrance to the Grand Line was close and they had their setting off ceremony.

I usually hate this type of comment, but since this instance is a little more literal, I'm okay with it. :P

Mentioned this before, but since you asked for comments about the filler again in this video, do NOT skip the second half of episode 61. The villain from the filler makes one last cameo, but otherwise that second half of the episode IS canon and very important to see.

Now is a good time to start making notes about the open threads and the unanswered questions. They'll become clues for things yet to come.

While I personally have watched all episodes of One Piece, some fillers are definitely worth skipping sure but I also think that while what happens in them isn't entirely canon (some bit of this filler is) I still think that in some way they're worth watching it gives you more time with Luffy and the crew. Yes, when I rewatch One Piece I definitely skip those fillers but I think on the first time run through you should watch them, Even if it's in your own time. I know to edit and adding commentary is so time-consuming so I say watch the fillers in your own time I'm sure there will be some you don't necessarily like but some you may find you love. I'd hate to think you may skip something that you might really enjoy, you chose to watch the anime, so watch it all!

The coming filler is worth skipping.

You can watch it on your own in your spare time. It's a good filler and has a bit of some cannon parts. like others have said; definitely watch/react the last episode from the filler because it's actually an important part of the cannon story.

It's such a painful and sometimes heart-wrenching thing to experience, but it so pays off when we get the answers, and often the ones we do get are really worth waiting for, but seriously I need answers about D the info we do have at the moment isn't enough to satisfy

Here are the times:
Episode 54: 21:48 - end
(You can skip this one if you just watch the recap for it on 55)
Episode 55: Beginning of ep - 7:40
Episode 61: 13:24 - end of ep
Hope this helps!

Hello!
Episodes 54, 55 and 61 are half fillers meaning they contain canon parts. I will look through those episodes and give you the times where they important info is at. These are really important to the overworld of one piece so please watch them on your own or react whatever you prefer! Thanks :)

The beauty of one piece is that the story is not centered around Luffy and his crew. The entire world has many separate things happening in it. Luffy and his crew have their own adventures, but those adventures are built around major occurrences in the world. That feeling of a "lack of resolution" that you say you felt in this episode will happen occasionally with seemingly random things, but will all be explained as the story progresses. Powers that don't make sense, are all explained. I would compare it to AoT's style of feeding you information as the show goes on, but instead of a few seasons, one piece builds its world in hundreds of episodes. Everything is planned out from the start, there are little to no logical inconsistencies, and that's why Oda is a genius.

in the filler eps, the crew got into a calm belt where there is no wind and wave, and tons of sea kings live there. a lot of pirates die in the calm belt because once they move, sea kings will attack them. the arc is about the crew saves a girl who escaped from the navy. the girl has ability to talk to animals and is friend with a thousand-year dragon. The crew help the girl back to her hometown and discover the dragon. Then they decide to help the dragon find his home. the bad guys basically a bunch of marine soldiers and a guy who can use his nail to cut things (he will briefly show up in ep 62)

I believe the filler arc also tells you about the calm belt. Which is important to know why the grand line is so hard to get in and out off. But it is skippable. The last episode (61) of the arc is also the entrance of the grand line, So i recommend watching the last half of that episode if you skip the filler.

There is definetly some really good filler arcs worth a watch later on in the series, this next one isnt that great imo.

Also giving you quick rundown of what info you miss from the filler. Grand Line is a sea which is located at the center of the one piece world. Straw Hats has to go through red line to get grand line. grand line is surrounded by a calm belt sea from both sides which is a sea which doesnt have any wind thats why the name. So sails wouldnt work. + Calm Belt is a place where Sea Kings live (sea kings are the biggest sea creatures / monsters and they are very aggressive over there. So in a way Grand Line got natural obstacle which stops you from just sailing there normal means.
