Where's the pilot?

I've been hitting some kind of art block lately, not that I have no ideas but I'd like to take my renders to another level and I'm not sure I have the skills just yet, nor how to do it.
This is a try at scene building and doing something larger than usual. I was hoping to animate this but blender keeps crashing on rendering so I'll settle with a single shot.
