Maybe have a look at Brass Eye, a TV series from Chris Morris, the writer/director of this. Should give you a better feel for the style of comedy in Four Lions! Chris Morris is widely recognised as an absolute comedy genius in the UK though, who shaped the style of British comedy in many ways. Many greats owe much to him.
