The units who joined originally to fight for Vanessa are now fighting for Ayla against her. The company still bares her initial, V. Units have tattoed the V-Corp logo on their body as a show of dedication, loyalty and submission to the company but now are in a position of fighting for the mere purpose of fighting.
But that's what being a combatant here is all about.
