Mercury the Merc Starcorp Commander

The commissioning of this Sector is taking longer than what I think Vanessa has patience for.

I can understand why they want a Sector out here but the amount of effort is insane.

The dam for the reservoir is largely intact but the pump and associated piping is damaged and decaying. All of the lower levels are flooded and its impossible to clear access to where the Sector will be based until we get the pumps online.

I have been co-ordinating the project since it started and its just been headache after headache.

Firstly the plans submitted by the previous owners were not accurate and did not show the extent to which the facility had dilapidated.

We got engineers in from an external contractor who refused to work unless there was additional security on site which meant ordering in another full rotunda of Temps.

When they did come in they took two weeks to measure out the piping and plan the installation. The mount of material, pipes and valves needed all required custom fabrication off island. The turn around time between ordering and receiving the parts was close to two months which a didn’t align with the existing pipework due to manufacturing imperfections and misalignment of the flanges.

We have re-ordered the parts but we are still looking at another few months.

Lets just hope that the ingress is nothing major.

Trying to keep the Combat girls occupied and busy when there is nothing going on is a challenge.

Some of the patrols said they have seen Jungle Commandos and other Marauders around the outer perimeters but we haven’t had any attacks.

Air defence is up so anything from V-Corp or CPD will get shot down.

The word from HQ is that this facility will become a secondary target if there is any attacks in future but its likely that they will leave the 40 SCUs here steady once the Temps are no longer active.

My second was against the use of Temps, like we have a choice but Im fine with it. 99 percent of them are former SCUs so they know how to operate, plus what are they going to do? Run off when the going gets tough? There’s no where to go.

But to keep them occupied we have been running drills and sims to get them running to their posts, defensive positions and what not.

Im just concerned about complacency. Atleast at op sectors there would be a little something every week. Even if there were no expenditures, there was still Azologoth extractions chewing atleast one unit per week.

That keeps them on alert.
