What The Mistress Thinks of Lani

She has grown to like her.

Very very much.

But why?

The Mistress did take interest in the events of Sector Coastal North where Lani started her op sector career.

The Mistress can't take her eyes off contest over Azologoth and Lani was first noticed there.  

Standard Combat Unit 270319 (Lani's stock number) was a standout eventually becoming a Rotunda Commander as Major Standard before she even turned 20.

Disciplinary action as a result of a difference of opinion would see her demoted to SCU and returned to Sector HQ1.

Her sector was deployed to the Zuvic Incursion in full and she would partake in the battle for the landing platform. One of the most insane skirms in the history of Mallera-9.

Surviving the insanity and eventually making it off the platform she was promoted from Standard Combat Unit to Commander just in time for Mallera-Deep.

Very soon into the operation she led a small contingent down to set up comms relays however they came under heavy assault by CPD.

She managed to fight her way back to the surface. One of only a few.

Later accused of conspiring with Kandi by Vanessa, she was ordered to be fed to an Azologoth however Phaedra turned her loose.

Kandi attempted to convince her to join CPD but she refused when luckily for her Ana Dark rescued her and returned her to Phaedra to take over as Vanessa's Right Hand Woman.

She held no grudge against Vanessa as the company was everything to her.

Eventually her and Vanessa captured Dione and negotiated CPD's withdrawal from the Island, sufficiently ending the conflict.

However one more attempt to save Dione was underway by an elite team of CPD Mercs. The Mistress knew of this and issued Lani a Black Star.

Sacrifice was expected. The Mistress seen Lani as a Threat, as she did Vanessa. These women were powerful, young and hot.

They could take everything from her.

Lani took the Black Star and took rounds.

She however had a Reco-Pack and revived herself. Becoming an independent contractor and eventually helped Vanessa defeat Shadow Sector.

The Mistress wanted them gone, especially Lani. She sent everything could spare to take them out.

Hundreds of Units were expended trying.

Lani got her taste of true power with the formation of V-Corp. Her servants calling her "Mistress".

But someone else seen her as a threat there and she was ejected from the order she helped create.

Every trial and tribulation the young woman had been through and adapted to.

The Mistress seen her for what she is. A tool to be wielded.

With a cold and calculated embrace the Mistress welcomed her back with open arms.

An instrument of flesh and blood.

If Vanessa was the Mistresses Pet.

Lani is her shotgun.
