They were all vetted, some ex combatants, most just doing a what could only be described as a bunk course run by former combat units in combat tactics. They spend a few days on site doing weapons training, get told about the cash perks of temp work and they bite it hook line and sinker.
"youll get paid to fight, youll get more money when you shoot someone, its fun and high adrenaline, who is good really"?
