In another fragment Phaedra never met Vanessa. For those who remember back to their first encounter, Vanessa selected one of the units guarding her ops room to be her henchwoman based on her stature.
In the Fragment this Phaedra is from, the attack on the Zuvic Platform was unsuccessful for Black Faction, losing all three sectors committed to the attack.
Operation Apex went ahead however it was unsuccessful with CPD capturing the special Azologoth beforehand. Leaving Black Faction without the Apex Units required to enter the Deep for the upcoming Operation Mallera-Deep.
Lani was expended as a Standard Combat Unit in a major skirm in Mallera-Deep and Vanessa was consumed as a Standard Combat Unit by a wall dwelling Azologoth.
Phaedra was utilised in support operations and was not deployed to either the attack on the Zuvic Platform or Operation Mallera-Deep.
After both disasters Black Faction withdrew from 6 of its 8 operational Sectors.
Central North, Central, East, Coastal North and TJ-498 were abandoned as Black Faction Numbers were insufficient to support them.
Port West & Outpost 8 remained.
2 months later a combined Zuvic/CPD force assaulted 3 of the 4 training centres operated by Black Faction capturing over 2500 recruits.
With replacements cut off and Zuvic and CPD both outnumbering Black Faction, the Mistress called all units back to HQ to put up a final defence.
Phaedra had been assigned as a command unit at Outpost-8 and was called back to with her Caches (she had 4 under her in total) to organise defence of the port facilities at HQ.
The build up took over 2 weeks with heavy probing attacks dwindling Black Faction down another two sectors or approximately 1800 units.
Including the successful destruction of the three stasis sectors.
The final "battle" for Mallera-9 was to be a massive raid on Black Faction HQ with no less than
10000 Zuvic Tech Units (9200 expendable type units) and 5600 CPD combat units against just 4500 Black Faction Combat Units, with another 1200 support staff implanted with ORC and very basic training.
Over the course of the build up Phaedra had her units lay down painted plywood which appeared to be concrete on sandy banks and soft ground which would generally be avoided due to earth liquefiers.
Multiple traps were including fall traps into liquid earth, trip wires and false gangways.
The tunnels below had been drained with sea water ready to be dumped in also.
On the first day of the attack spotters gave the heads up that the enemy transports were on the way. A fierce air skirm raged enroute with dozens of ZT-90s on both sides being shot out of the sky, a total of 6 moose's were lost carrying full caches and a Sector sized transport plunged into the ocean.
An underwater skirm made of nightmares took place where micro subs with crews of 3 went up against each other and unit carrying subs ready to raid deep tunnels with 12 units on each.
Simple air burst torpedo's crack the composite hulls sending the crafts to the bottom. Where the ravaging tentacles of the earth liquefiers reveal themselves due to the sediment washing away.
Some subs tried to go low to avoid the combat only to be pulled down into the sandy bottom by tentacles, hull intact, with 12 combatants crammed inside.
On the port Phaedra sent units out to engage the incoming landing and aircraft.....and to contest it to hide the fact there was a trap.
Once her units were taken out and the crafts began to land, they quickly sank taking their crews with them. More continued to attempt to land and some would but they would be cut down by well concealed units with Hbags.
Eventually they did land a substantial number of combat units on the port facilities however many were being lost to traps and fire from Phaedras fearsome Caches.
Early in the second day of the attack the attempt of capturing the Port was abandoned and Zuvic and CPD redirected their units elsewhere.
The raid would come to failure for CPD and Zuvic with Black Factions total unit numbers dwindling down to just 1200.
After this disaster all three agreed to remain within their respective territories and just deal with pirates and marauders.
However after 3 years The Mistress was keen to begin capturing territory again and after the Sugar Device caused the fragmentation event she sent her most capable commander through to Fragment Prime to gain experience in more advanced Combat Tactics.
