Unmasked Standard Combat Unit

Coming out of service prep to go on a Static Patrol, this combatant was stopped by an Internal Comms Officer on behalf of a high ranking command unit. 

ICO - Wait don't pull up your mask, let me get some shots

SCU - Yes Ma'am

ICO - incase you're wondering, this is for Mistress ------, she wants to document some of the combatants working in this sector

SCU - Understood Ma'am

ICO - You can relax around me, stop calling me Ma'am, call me Bree, what's your name?

ICO - your real name?

SCU - Danni

ICO - Ok Danni tell me how old you are, how long have you been here and why did you join

SCU - about to turn 21 next week, I have been here 2 years, a lady approached me at the gym, took me out to lunch, she bought me gifts, then paid me to come to a focus group where we did some tests fitness and everything

ICO - ahh one of the sleeper recruiters, do you remember her name?

SCU - Mel, she was about 45 years old or something like that

ICO - I don't know a Mel, there are a few hundred around though, so what convinced you

SCU - she put on a whole "I spent so much time with you, its the perfect fit, I'm going to get in trouble for not having you sign up now, you just used me to get free stuff"

ICO - that's a dirty tactic, so you joined?

SCU - yeh I joined after that, before I knew it I'm walking through HQ to start training.

ICO - do you regret coming now?

SCU - No, I mean there have been some very close calls, some crazy stuff happen

ICO - like what? What would be the closest call?

SCU - I got grabbed by a zog and pulled to the edge of the entrance and the chemical kicked in and put it to sleep

ICO - Oh shit! What was that like? Was it terrifying?

SCU - ORC had me numbed until I got to the edge, then just the thought of being pulled into that thing, into its slimy throat gone forever put me into a panic

ICO - were you ok from it?

SCU - it had me around the waist, cracked a few of my ribs and bruised me really bad, but I was ok

ICO - what about the craziest thing you seen?

SCU - we were in ZT-90s and the one next to mine got hit by a fluff launcher, it turned on its side and you just seen like a whole Rotunda sprinkle out the door, hitting into liquid earth. Then the ZT-90 ploughed straight in disappearing. 

ICO - that is crazy!

SCU - yeh and I was just waiting to be suddenly free falling towards liquid earth too

ICO - that must have been scary

SCU - yes, but you feel so alive!
