Picture 25: A V-Corps soldier fires her rifle and it hits Private Raven on her head. Corporal Lilith heard her comrade utters a brief grunt then her body drops to the ground, already dead. "I'M sorry, guys! I let you all down!!" Lilith says silently to all her fallen colleagues. As the ranger, she is supposed to lead her platoon to a position of advantage where they could ambush the enemy safely while having very few casualties. Instead, she leads them into a trap where the enemy could easily kill them one by one. She knows her only path to redemption is to die with her comrades as well.

But both keep raising their rifles. Both know the battle is lost and there is no way they will escape alive, but both have been indoctrinated never to surrender to the enemy and choose expenditure versus surrendering, hence they raise their rifles but not firing them either, waiting for the inevitable outcome.

They saw movements in the bushes so they know the V Corps platoons are breaching deep into the BFC controlled area again, and it is up to them to try stopping them. "See anything, Lilith??" 1st Lieutenant Vanessa, the platoon's commander, ask the unit who's been tasked as the look our/ranger for the Platoon. "There are units in grey moving in!!" Corporal Lilith, a tall ponytailed soldier reporting to her commanding officer and informing the rest of her Platoon as well.

There is dialogue in these that I’d love to hear carried over into the videos more; I’m thinking particularly of “last girl standing” remarks like “This is it!” or “I’m screwed!” And other things to drive home the hopelessness of a squad about to get wiped out: “We’re finished!/We’re all f*cked!”
