What is a Mistress?

The Matriarchal figure at the top of the structure/entity. Caterina is a Mistress. Kader Zuvic is a Mistress. Kayo Tanaka is a Mistress. The Mistress is a Mistress. Vanessa is a Mistress and of course, Lani is now a Mistress.

The Mistress does as she wills. But she has a thirst.

The thirst is power.

The quencher is revenue.

The only obstacle in her way are other Mistresses.

Beneath a Mistress are servants. Cascading down in a hierarchy from commanders, to combatants.

The servants are an extension of her will and they carry out her will by eliminating her competition and extracting Neon Dark.

Both tasks are dangerous.

Extracting Neon Dark requires servants to sacrifice themselves on occasion, being dragged down by hideous tentacles into a fleshy Maw into the abyss in suffocating darkness deep underground, never to be seen again.

Eliminating the enemy requires combating them, subsequently resulting in their sacrifice, sometimes into the hundreds to achieve the will of the Mistress.

A Mistress does not see their servants as human, but as a tool made of flesh, like a drill bit.

Crafting a tool requires a blank piece of flesh and a machine to turn it.

A blank piece of flesh being a healthy, fit young woman.

The machine being training.

The tool completes work, generates revenue until its expended and replaced.

More work results in more expenditure which results in more expenditure.

The more tools she has the more she can sacrifice to buy more tools.

Expenditure is The Religion of the Mistress.

Sacrifice is the essence of her being.
