Has Black Faction been too familiar

Not necessarily in the whole fighting for resources sense, but the structure, narcissism, insane policy type sense

Comments

This is quite literally disturbing that such a high number have worked in a organisation of cold blooded corperatism

Neon Dark

very interesting take

Right! more of a power thing going on?

Automated processes have resulted in a growth of roles in society where every action and response may only be carried out with strict adherence to official policy and procedure, with zero consideration given to the achievement of the desired end-goal (if any), since the processes simply do not allow for independent thought to be applied. Most individuals are content to accept and embrace the liberation from the requirement to think for themselves, and have adopted this into their habitual behaviour. it's easier to program a human to think like a machine, than it is to program a machine to think like a human. If taken to its logical extreme, having already expended their own individuality of thought, it's not much further along that road before a human could willingly give their body for expenditure, if it meant they would never have to return to the agonies of free will. In making this decision, they cease to be human, and become a cog in the machine, or a 'Unit' if you prefer, once the necessary mask, boots, and body protection have been equipped. I voted 'Yes' but I don't think that the answer 'No' even applies. Neon Dark is in everyone's future, like it or not. But... the zogs like it, and I like what the zogs like, so I like it too!

My own experience in corporate and bureaucratic organizations feels a bit different than BFC. Sometimes it has been positive, but other times it can be downright hostile. There should be a lot more CYA, for example. I’ve found that behavior everywhere. Another nasty feature of office politics: the pecking order of functions that are “core” to the business vs those that are seen as “support” or overhead. Dealing with that in spades right now. So while there are some bits and pieces that resonate, the full-fledged “they will feed you to the Zog” idea isn’t my experience. (Oh I should add: don’t blame the profit motive, either: the worst places I’ve worked have been nonprofit)

Not sure how to answer this. I used to work for a real world Black Faction but I don't anymore. Maybe a third choice: "I used to work for Black Faction but I escaped."
