Operational Dilution

The makeup of the Cache was a full 90 units, brand new with less than 1 months service, but to rub salt in the wound, they were of a higher grading level as part of a new training package introduced within the last year. Higher fitness levels, aptitude and technical skill these units were grinded through training and were to be a new more effective fighting force for the Mistress going forward...…..only to be expended via sinking into the abyss. Not an efficient use of combat assets.
Hard Skirms need to be carried out still with effective, numerous standards, but missions like the taking back of the turn junction are really brining reality back to Black Faction.
A proposal has been brought forward by a Commander to form a Diluted Class of Standard Combat Unit. Their purpose? To perform the tasks that require nothing but bodies.
The proposal was to reduce the entry specs, decrease training to 3 weeks only but continue within HQ. Continually testing the units on a bi-annual basis to determine admittance to standard ranks.
The units would pretty much only open assault in human waves until objectives were taken.
The proposal is under consideration as the cache with the higher rated units would have demolished Lani and her forces there, but a cache of the proposed diluted units would have still achieved the goal, albeit taking higher expenditure........without the same fiscal pain if the whole cache was dropped.
The greenfield proposal was increasing the ranks to 65,000 and raiding every location on the island with supporting standards. Including a 20,000 unit raid on CPD HQ, with loss estimates of 12000 in air losses alone.
of course the Mistress doesn't want to sign off on this version

Now that Lani and Vanessa are supported by Jordanna and backed by CPD, it would be foolish not to risk at least this much in order to neutralise all of her greatest threats in a single conclusive offensive. I hope that the Mistress's concerns are only based on the potential loss of airborne transport vehicles, and not on the projected loss of 12,000 newly hired rookie units, who each face a uniquely fascinating method of expenditure, trapped within sealed metal caskets, 90 girls per container, descending slowly but irreversibly through miles of liquid earth, in conditions of total darkness, disorientation, and limited personal mobility, each having no conception of what is happening outside, but with their ORC signals gradually losing strength, a growing intuitive sense of fear that 3 weeks ago, they made the worst decisions of their short lives. On a lighter note - What is an Azog's favourite brand of tinned food? Buried Heels! No? Oh....
