There's been all kinds of these guys over the years, and their designs are usually on point... Though I have to say, I wasn't too fond of them in BotW, haha. They looked too much like actual chameleons for my liking!

I like 'em devious and colourful, like this guy is... They probably lick their lips while they spy on you, those sly bastards.

Little bit of lore... as always!
Lizals are not a single species, but rather a group of species - some are bulkier, some are slinkier, more colourful, sneakier... and some have chameleon-like properties!

Originally, Lizalfos were conjured through black magic, by combining the bodies of a human and a lizard (usually a mountain lizard). These dark mages lived high on Death Mountain, and they used this magic on their own bodies to enhance their abilities, adaptability, and longevity... With such feats, it didn't take long for their tribe's original species to go extinct.

Ganon was himself created by ambitious dark mages, who happen to be the same ones that eventually became Lizalfos. Although it made them powerful, this transformation did a number on their callous and cunning nature. Lizalfos are territorial and arrogant, so they usually work in small groups - if not completely solo.
