Zora Portraits
Added 2024-07-10 04:24:54 +0000 UTCI've always been a bit apprehensive of Zora designs over the games... Either they're too human-like with their nose and such, or they look too goofy with their strange proportions. Of course, there's things I like about each iteration, but I think Zoras ought to be very graceful, smooth and elegant... A bit like this! I like the idea that Zoras are mostly derived from sharks.
While their skin is quite cold and slick, and their expression is usually aggressive-looking, I'd wager their drapy, blanket-like fins make great cuddling material~
I don't have lore made up for them yet! What do you think their people is all about? What do they eat? How do they rut? DO they rut?

A culture where reproduction and love are basically two separate activities is honestly rather interesting to me! And of course, that doesn't have to always be the case too.

2024-07-18 16:18:01 +0000 UTCThank you! I really like it too, the way they look graceful and dangerous at the same time... That's an interesting thought! Zoras are known to lay several eggs at once, and (presumably, much like certain species of fish would), the male injects his semen inside afterwards. Then, he guards the eggs like a good dad until it's hatched, so the mother and father have their usual roles inverted. It might seem there's little contact between them leading up to all this.

2024-07-18 03:10:59 +0000 UTCOk this may be one of my favorite Zora designs. You hit the nail on the head of being between OoT and BotW Zoras in a great way! Perhaps they spawn like salmon do, with the male and female basically not needing to interact? I imagine if that's the case though they definitely get up into some very close personal time with each other outside of the actual act.
