I try to spend an hour each day or so to my creative projects with Steph. I cycle through the hundreds of galleries I have and spend a some time each day further curating a particular gallery.
This morning I went into the Spartan project. Steph was really lean getting ready for another fitness show back in 2019 so I figured we'd do a spartan theme one day using some red fabric we already had and a helmet a client had left over (random i know). She reluctantly agreed to spend a couple hours on her day off to shoot the concept.
She asked if she needed to prep or do any make up. I said no its not that kind of shoot. I just want you nude with the helmet on and the red cloak tying it all together. The first image was one of the first I got. You can see how annoyed she is lol.
We had already done a really successful part one of this theme a few months earlier. Which got us these photos which are some of my favorite.

I loved it so much I wanted to try and get more. With this narrative thought I wanted to try and edit her having fallen in battle. I gruesomly wanted arrows that I would edit in post to pierce her. That explains photo number 2... that concept never happened. I saved it for a different concept almost a year later. "Arrows by Day"
She asked during the Spartan Shoot why do you want me to have arrows in me?? Why cant I be a hero and win. I said I am the artist and it's my vision okay. Thats when she pretended to kick me. In self defense I snapped a photo as it happned. lol.

I said to her, I think you would be a really solid example of a spartan woman or a woman who takes care of herself and those around her. You're beautiful and strong not just in body but in spirit and mind as well. That was the motivation behind this shoot.
The arrows and downfall represent the mistakes we make, but in my mind or in my narrative they never destroy us completely, we get stronger from them. We get back up.
After I said all that I could tell she was happy but she was like okay can we be done now??
Oh well, If she was as motivated as I was I think we would have made a feature film by now lol.
