It's important to look back where you started, and from time to time remind yourself why you started.
Here is a look at 2016 the day after I got my camera (Canon 70D) and a look at a shoot from 2022. I was so eager to shoot when I first got my camera I just asked Steph to throw on a dress and snapped some photos of her. No consideration of pose, wardrobe, lighting or scene. In fact, looking back, I think I got discouragned and put off photographing her for some time. I did landscapes, photos of my dog, my jeep, and typical snapshots you'd expect out of an amateur (not that there is anything wrong witht that) but I knew I wanted to grow more in my photography.
I've learned a lot over the years but still have more to learn, more passion to discover. Im now focused more and more on teaching photography one on one, which is rewarding and also educational for me.
