One of the things I love most in photography is all the factors that go into the process. Framing, lighting, poses, clothing or lack of clothing, scenery etc. Changing one of those elements yields a whole new narrative, emotion, or perspective.

Steph is a very dynamic person. I always thought she would be a great actor. A modern Marilyn Monroe in a way. Although several people have told me she gives off Lea Thompson vibes. ( I don’t see it) there is a photo of Marilyn nude by the pool which inspired this project we’ve been shooting the past couple of days “Poolside”

She can read the situation very well. By the pool she knew the emphasis was more on her figure, and posed without direction. For the portrait the night earlier she gave a subtle and inviting smile. Perhaps it’s because she knows me and my style of photography or maybe my style was developed from her mannerisms. Either way she’s a great subject.
