If you have 20 minutes and can stand hearing me talk that long... here is a tutorial that you may find helpful.
Editing is where the magic happens. You'd be surprised with what you can do with only a few solid clips and a good editing process.
I use Final Cut Pro FCPx, but there are many other software options out there.
tips for a cinematic look:
Film using and ND filter
Film wide open F1.4-2.8
Edit on a 24fps timeline and film in 24fps (shutter speed rule 2x frame rate)
Lighting is everything, lighting can make the cheapest cameras look like Hollywood
After lighting focus on the narrative or your story, write out a simple script, or a story board, put some planning into the design to include location, wardrobe etc.
Learn color grading, and basic cinematography fundamentals, angles, perspectives, camera movements.
Keep your music in mind. Use a premium service or make your own.
