Now vs Then
Added 2022-05-20 01:24:07 +0000 UTCI remember dating Steph, I was so embarrassed when we were at a bar in downtown Savannah, Ga and she wasn't wearing a bra and all the guys were staring at us...(her). I got a little upset with her. She responded, "why are you upset? I am with you?" I could not argue with her, and started overtime embracing her beauty and care free attitude. It really helped my passion to start creating with visual arts.
Before photography I was into wood working. I spent money on tools and lumbar and built tables and furniture. I am proud to say I actually had a few paying jobs as a carpenter and still have a few pieces of furniture I made.
I have alway been one to create, I either day dream, or I will put it to action. My point to all this ranting is this...
If there is any desire to create or make something, don't ignore it. Who cares if its already been done, you are you and unique. You can bring something to the field no body else has, either for yourself or the masses.
I remember seeing a youtube video of a guy teaching photography and he used his wife as a model. This was in 2015. I was hooked on the idea that Steph could be my model... just for me. I never imagined her being seen by anyone else.
The first two photos are from 2016, I was fascinated with photographing her. She is not some super model just a genuine, kind real woman, and my photos...they are not good photos by any means; and to you, the photos may look awful, but that photo was a particular point in time in her life that is forever captured, and it's not on some camera roll on my phone or in some forgotten photo album, it in her gallery I curate for her... thats what captures me. She is a beautiful woman, one day, a long time from now, her beauty will fade to the person who doesn't know her, I want to capture all of it, in her 20's 30's 40's and beyond.
So capture those moments and curate them into memories or memoirs that will last and serve as a body of work.
