Sorry if I had posted this one before... This was from the couple of shoots I did with her where we took a very simple approach to photo-shooting.
I was overwhelming myself with trying to keep up with trends, learning lighting and diffusion of lighting, directing, finding wardrobes etc. She had the idea of just simplifying things. One light, simple posing, no wardrobe. Of course we could not share any of the work but it was fun practice and made for some photos and galleries I really cherish.
Like some sort of modern day renaissance painting (not saying that is what it is) the simplistic approach to it all, and the non sexualized nude woman emphasized the subject. Her kind and shy smile, her figure and pose portrays an innocence. The photo again, was never intended to be shared, however if she was clothed, to me the photo would not be nearly as dramatic.
I remember this shoot particularly... she was breast pumping at the time and had missed a session that day. She was complaining about her breast hurting and being swollen, I asked if she would shoot first because I had somewhere to be that evening. The whole shoot she was leaking milk everywhere and obviously uncomfortable from the swelling, but I did manage to get this shot, the only on where she was softly smiling, probably wishing I would hurry up and take the shot... looking back I wish I had done more work with her during this time. While breastfeeding she was remarkably beautiful in her nurturing state. I was more focused on jobs, and clients. A lesson learned... never ignore the special moments in life.
