Change Notification

Hey Patrons!  This is just a quick notification from me to say that after 1st June we're going to change the billing model from Pay Monthly to Charge Upfront.  Mostly this doesn't affect existing Patrons, but you might have some questions about this, so let me try to answer them:

Sadie, I'm an existing Patron, what does this mean for me?  Will access to your content cost me more, or will I be billed twice?

For existing Patrons, there will be no additional charge and you'll continue to be billed on the 1st of the month as normal.  You'll still get access to all the same content and you can still choose to leave at any time if you decide the content isn't for you.

If you're a Static Image Patron and you'd like to upgrade to a Webcomic Patron, you can do that before 1st June and you won't pay any extra until the June billing cycle.  If you wait until Charge Upfront billing is enabled, you'll be billed on the day you choose to upgrade.  So, if you want to see what the Webcomic tier is all about, go ahead and upgrade now!

What about new Patrons?

At present, new Patrons can sign up and get access to all our super-hot female desperation content, but they don't pay for membership until the 1st of the next month.  Under Charge Upfront billing, new Patrons will pay on the day they sign up to access all the current content, and then pay again on the 1st of the month to retain access for the rest of that month.

Why now?  What's changed?

Two things: first, I've got lots more content available now than when I first launched.  When the channel became active on 1st January, there was literally 1 issue available, and most of that could be seen on deviantart for free.  It seemed totally unfair to expect Patrons to pay up front and have nothing to see.  As the months have rolled by and your much-appreciated support has increased, I've put more and more work into creating additional content, and I now have more issues live on this channel than I ever expected to have.  I think the channel is now at the stage where it's fair to charge up front for access to all that content.

Second, without Charge Upfront billing enabled, it's possible for a supporter to sign up, download all the super-hot bursting lady content, then cancel their membership before the 1st of the month, then sign up again the next month.  By doing this, non-supporting Patrons can leapfrog the billing window month after month, getting access to all the content that the rest of you are generously supporting, and it doesn't cost them a dime.  I can block individual accounts but there's nothing to stop the same supporters coming back with a different email address next month and doing the same thing.
