The May Update

I just want to say first and foremost, for those who stuck around in this 1 1/2 month drought, I apologize for said drought, and I appreciate your patience.

I admittedly had a pretty rough April, and on top of everything, it was the start of college project overload/finals prep and I had a lot riding on the outcome of this semester. Stress and sheer exhaustion caused me to break down and I had to put stuff on hold so that I could hit the books as hard as possible. That being said, none of this is a valid excuse for leaving you all in the dark; I should have been a bit more communicative, especially since you are all paying for content, and I haven't been delivering like you were promised. Again, I apologize for this lack of content in recent months.

There are a few things I would like to note, before noting some slight changes to how things are run:

Firstly, we need to back off on the paintings reward for now until we reach the 60 Patron stretch goal to fully fund said paintings; we're currently at a point where one painting would have been funded over the course of 3 months, which also means that your money hasn't been going to waste in terms of, for instance, the Melony painting itself, but its also true that under the current conditions, it hasn't been fully funded yet either. I don't think its anyone's fault but my own that we're just under halfway to that goal because I have a hard time advertising for it; a monthly plug for it should get us there in no time! Now that we are in the summer months, there will be a steep spike in content, because I have nothing to do but draw!


In its stead, I will be doing a Colored Lineart for the winning option starting next month, and building up from there as more patrons join; this Patreon, at its core, was intended to be sort of a tip jar where you can also crowdfund bigger pieces. The paintings are a goal I tried to jump straight to without adequate funding, and the consequences of doing so were quickly made apparent. But we will get there! I just have to work a bit harder on my end, because I do want to paint more!

Another thing I want to do is create new tiers for the people who consistently buy sketches from me every month; basically like the order form I usually do weekend sketches for, but at a reduced price and increased commission discounts; Regular Sketches for $25 with a 10% discount for any other commissions while subscribed, and Colored for $35 with a 20% discount on all orders. They'll be limited (5 slots per tier), but I do want to show the people who have consistently bought slots from me a bit of appreciation if they'd want to take advantage of that, while also leaving a bit of room for others who would want to get in on it.

Last thing: I want to start doing this summer is start visually developing the comic project and plan out how I want to start teasing on that; I've been developing this for just under a year, and I have been ITCHING to start drawing it and publishing it, but I would always get held up by something. This summer is the summer though. I've waited long enough! There will be development content as this builds up; I want to take the next few months to get all of the aspects that I would need most immediately nailed down visually, and I will keep you in the loop and let you in on some BTS content, along with being able to have early access to the issues as they come out.

So worry not! I have a lot coming down the pipeline in the coming months, it'll be busy, but I think it'll be worth it! Thank you for your patience! Melony will be posted on Friday! Lots of art incoming! I promise you won't regret it!!
