This picture is kind personal. Whiplash reminds me a lot when I was a kid. You see, I used to be drummer for 5 years in the orchestra, as far I remember we used to compete each other to see who was going to stay on each concert while the orchestra's conductor was always screaming at us. Unfortunately, one day I was kicked out for not following his tempo, I think the guy I had to keep the compass was a trumpeter I was so upset that day, I ran away home and tried not to think about it. Few years later, I saw my teacher at the mall, we talked for bit, he was still insisting to go back and keep going, but I felt that I had other things in mind, I was starting with the drawing and art stuff hehe so I decided to leave that part of my life away for a while.
It's kinda funny how life takes many turns. Every time I listen to a song, I try to follow the rhythm using my legs like drums, somehow.. I miss music though. My boyfriend has a piano at home, I use it occasionally, when I'm not working on commissions or art related but gotta say drums are my field. Someday I'll try to get some to start practice again, and specially play the song I was kicked out time ago.
So yeah, I can relate a lot with the kid of the movie, it became one of my favorite movies. If you haven't watched it yet, you should. I hope you like it.
