Check-in, price update and future plans

It's been a while since we talked. I don't do these kind of posts often (I think). I can see how they could get annoying if one always spams the member list, but I thought I'd say hi.

How were the winter holidays? I do hope you all got some rest. For me, I was visiting family (which I don't see often). I worked, finished editing book one of Undersea (finally), and got home on the 14th. The flight was awful ( headed to the airport at 2am local time, aka no sleep) and arrived 3pm the next in Montreal after ~13 hours of flight, and I got sick. Which is why the schedule was a mess that week and the last one.

That last part was not fun. But it was nice to see the family. I don't get to see them often.

Next item on the docket, is pricing. Yup. It's yet another update, but worry not, you will not be affected*

Jokes aside, and cards on the table, I believe I overshot with the last update in October, to the point where I might have been financially irresponsible, especially considering that I'm doing this fulltime.

Seeing all the new (and old) authors and their Patreons, I realize I'm undercharging. I still want to give you more for your pledge, of course, and I have a plan to increase the content that you'd get. I also still don't want to deal with different content for different tiers. I have to be very careful about my financial stability to be able to continue doing this. So here's what I'm going to do:

I'm grandfathering the 5$ tier. Meaning, if you are on that tier, you'll just keep paying the same amount every month, as long as you're supporting me. New patrons will not have that option, and instead, they will be subscribing to the 10$ tier to get everything available. I'm sticking to the one-tier gets everything model, and this change should go live in the next couple of days.

As for the content itself, don't hold me too hard to this, but I will ramp up the output. This one's hard to estimate, but I'll aim for at least one extra chapter in one of the stories every week. Some weeks, Scorching will get it, another week, Undersea will get it. I don't wanna promise four or five each as that feels like a sure way to burnout, but this year, one of my goals is to ramp up my writing speed.

So we continue with the schedule of 3/each, and every week there'll be at least one bonus chapter.

I don't say it enough as I'm a bit of an awkward person in real life, but I'm sincerely grateful to all of you. When I started this, I was on my second burnout from working in tech and for the first time in my life, over the last a few months I could honestly say I'm content and actually mean it. It's challenging, yes. Stressful? Absolutely. But I get to do something I genuinely enjoy, and I get to share with you all.
