IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY - EPISODE 16 - FINALE

You should definitely watch Hotel Del Luna as a future series

In case you're open to checking out some historical/period dramas too, I'd like to recommend 2 other kdramas on Netflix that are really good and I think you'd like: 1. Mr. Sunshine - set right before the colonial era, it follows the love story between a former slave who grew up in America and an aristocrat lady (played by actress Kim Tae-ri from The Handmaiden) who secretly tries to fight against the Japanese occupation. It has some beautiful, strong, and complex characters and an interesting portrayal of the Korean society of the time, the international relations with both Japan and the USA and how those affected Koreans (with a bit of more or less subtle irony towards both), the fight for personal survival and the fight for national independence. It's heartbreaking and pretty heavy, but a very good, high quality kdrama. 2. Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung - this is set in the early 19th century Joseon and centers around one of the first women to work at the palace on an intellectual position, that of a royal historian. Her love interest becomes the adorable young prince (played by Cha Eunwoo of Astro) who's secretly a romance writer. As their relationship develops, they have to face palace intrigues and work together to uncover a mystery from the past that connects them and becomes relevant to the entire kingdom. All characters and events are fictional, but it's a relatively good image of the society and general politics heavily rooted in a conservative form of Confucianism, of course with exaggerations for the drama. Some social issues addressed in the series are censorship, the access to education, sexism, healthcare and vaccination, and the persecution of Catholics in the Joseon dynasty. Despite the sad and tensed moments, it's overall a really cute comfort watch, definitely more lighthearted than the other one.

This is probably my 3rd time watching this but I've still cried the whole episode... Truly my all time favourite kdrama, nothing can surpass it. The story, the acting, the visuals, everything is so beautiful and well done. It feels like it's made to be healing for the audience, so it HAD to have a happy ending, otherwise it wouldn't be complete
