I loved Semantic Error so much, it was such a cool shift in BL kdrama and really helped amplify the genre. Plus I love Jaechan (Sangwoo)- he's been waving the queer positivity flag for a while. He straight up challenged a reporter who asked if he was embarrassed to be the shorter 'weaker' of the pair, and he's casually dropped inclusive terms on his talk show and basically made a point of not letting people assume heterosexuality. I'm glad you're beginning your BL journey. There are some meh shows out there that are a bit female fantasy based but a lot of the more recent ones are really good and so much queer joy getting to watch these shows and not just be relegated to side character in a straight show. I know a lot of people have recommended KinnPorsche but I would be super hesitant with it. I was really excited for it, loved the first ep, then dropped it and ended up hating it because it has some major consent issues. There is dark romance and then there is the production company having to release a statement that yes this scene is SA. I just couldn't go forward trying to base a romance on that. I know many people love it but it has major trigger warnings so maybe do a bit of research first. I was so disappointed that one of the first big mature shows ended up being like that and I don't want anyone to be blindsided as I was. If you want more spicy stuff PitBabe is actually really cool. I started it as a bit of a joke but ended up absolutely loving it- very refreshing. I am v picky about being able to enjoy mature scenes but those ones I felt were really well done. Light On Me is one of my favourite bl kdramas and got to me emotionally in quite a few ways. And if you want wholesome and a bit quirky My School President is also good. Also one of my first dramas was 'Cutie Pie'. It's a thai arranged marriage series and I found it pretty fun in part because queer arranged marriage romcom trope. Whatever you pick- enjoy the gay~ ❤

just curious what confused you about the eighth sense – because i personally found the message pretty clear? jaewon is a complex character but i feel like he's incredibly relatable and the plot is easy to follow imo. it's just got a different vibe than most other bls but honestly that's what i appreciate about it. to each their own, semantic error is good but there are other better kbls in my opinion. i feel like a lot of people are deeply connected to semantic error because it was their first kbl but it wasn't mine so i don't have that connection :/

Amazing show! It was really difficult not to jump ahead, especially with these last two episodes. Glad I waited! They really flew through the storyline of the manhwa. The manhwa is broken up by three seasons, so I thought they would follow that a little more closely. Although, season 2 is mostly where Sangwoo finds out how gay sex works, so I can see why they would skip past it. They could definitely do a season 2 of the show with some of the stuff they skipped over, but the big climatic end was whether Jaeyoung was going to leave or not (funny that in the Manhwa he was going to America. I wonder why they changed it to France.) So I'm not sure what they would do to keep the tension. Still, if this is all they do of it they gave it a satisfying ending. And I'm with you, Cam, seeing any kind of queer love just makes my heart so happy!

The first 2 episodes are the insta freeze (make no sense) but you quickly get to the fun (episode 3) and when you are near the end of your swim (episode 40 something) you realize that initial dive was everything that made the day great and it all comes to clear 😂.

This is the show that I always recommend for a first time BL watcher. Korean BL's are almost always shorter episodes like this, but if you want something longer, there are lots of amazing Thai BL's. Most of them are 45-60 min each episode. Some are quite spicy too.

I feel like the camera direction confused me. It felt like not all of the shots were directed by the same person and there was an inconsistency in artistic expression. That really bothered me. Maybe I need to watch it again bc I couldn’t follow the plot that well.

I highly recommend “Love for Love’s Sake”. It has an interesting storyline and great chemistry. Plus there is one specific actor in it that I KNOW you would love to see in the show.

Man now you gotta check out City Boy Log, a lightly scripted BL vlog series on youtube with a member from TAN and some other actors/ models. They reference Semantic Error a lot, because it's the script they're using to audition for some plot related thing. It's very cute and funny imo

This is the show that I always recommend for a first time BL watcher. Korean BL's are almost always shorter episodes like this, but if you want something longer, there are lots of amazing Thai BL's. Most of them are 45-60 min each episode. Some are quite spicy too.
