Sounds like you patched Season 1/2 with Season 3 - which this post tells you not to do as it will corrupt your persistent save file and game. If you patched it wrongly, you have to: 1. Re-download S1&2. 2. Re-download S3. 3. Keep them separate from each other and never merge folders. 4. You furthermore have to delete your persistent file in the being a dik folders located here: %appdata%/renpy To avoid this from happening in the future, read the install instructions more carefully and never merge S1&S2 with S3 data.

Yes, you can play Season 3 with Steam Season 2 saves that are made at the Export screen at the end of episode 8. Just make sure that you never put any Season 3 content in your Steam Season 1 & 2 folders. That error happens if the download fails somehow. Redownload the binary and unzip again.

saves are found in the original game folder in games folder - the second location can be found in the AppData/Roaming/RenPy/BeingaDIK (careful though there might be two different folders one for save seasons 1&2 and the other for Season 3)

You can't. The Steam version is Season One and Two ONLY. You must keep the install/folders separate. You put the Patreon Interlude and Ep. 9 into its own folder. You can then import Season 2 Static (Final) Saves from Steam into the Patreon version by selecting "Import" and then changing the source of the save files to Steam.

See this image to load your saves from Steam. But note that you cannot merge the game with Steam as the post says. That would corrupt your saves. Keep everything you download from here in separate folders. You can have a root folder named BeingADIK and put different zip files in it, and different folders of game versions too e.g v0.9.1 and v0.10.0 can be in that same folder. Just go by the rule of thumb to never merge full downloads unless you are patching your game and know how to patch, and you will be good. Save files always transfer automatically if you're playing on the same PC every time. So, don't move them.

Are you talking about the haunted mansion event? If you press the 'h' key you will hide the flashlight and should be able to see the key. The black bars cannot overlap this area. Try playing fullscreen/windowed and see if it helps you click the key. It's in the upper middle part of the screen.

hey happySmoke123 I'm having the same problem, as it turns out for some reason my discord account has access to 18+ servers blocked and you have to submit a request to them directly to get it unblocked. if you go to the Discord page and click on support search for Age-restricted channels and content and it will tell you what you have to do. hope this helps!

Very well said about how DPC places the music just right. I have mentioned that in the past. I totally agree with "Medicate me" love that song. All the piano parts in the first two seasons. In Ep. 9 I agree with "Welcome to the Carnival" love it. The three rap songs fit perfectly too. When Tommy hits the stage for the drinking competition. It's all perfectly placed.

There are however songs that I relate to certain girls in BaD..like jojo sitting in mc lap outside sorority party (also josy dance scene at dorm party), quinn at DIK house after getting mugged, or piano builds to crescendo in rainstorm on date with Jill. DPC has an uncanny ability to place music with emotional weight at the right scene. Whenever I hear a song used in BaD in another avn its actually off-putting as many devs just use the music assets as background filler and it feels so thin and out of place...

Not gonna lie, the low action here was not such a big deal. Personally the thing I love most about this game. Is that it comes with a sound story, there is a lot to the game. The detail and dialog is more rounded and has some deep focus into it. Plus mini games are legit fun to play. It's a good simulation. I strongly dislike the games where it's all huge tits and ass, with endless mindless sex. Real women don't have triple x sized breasts, if they do its 1 out of a rather huge number of women. They always end up needing breast surgery. Other games compared to being a dik are trash as they have no substance to them, and all the women are typically the same.

Good to see a fellow quinn fan :).... and yeah cant wait for some new scenes with quinn...wondering about when they go out for "date" :D

The Doc has taken care of so many variables, it surprises me every time. I have done others playthrough many times because quinn ftw :D, and today i did it again, but made sure the mc didn't hook up with anyone at the party. I was so amazed that quinn's dialogue changes after that. btw what a great final scene at quinn's place. Really showed how much work was put into that. Clearly my 2nd fav scene after the weed rooftop scene early in season 1 :D

I did a playthrough with Josy and Maya last night. I was weighted more toward Maya during it. It was amazing! A lot of fun. Maya stole the show. I look forward to doing it again and leaning more toward Josy. DPC, your branching is amazing. Every branch is so fresh and different. I can only imagine what that spreadsheet looks like with all the variables and choices. You are the best. So much entertainment in one episode. Unbelievable.

I've had the same problem - deleted and reinstalled v0.8.3, played through from the start without modding, exported the new, 'clean' save to v0.9.1 but it keeps crashing right at the beginning of ep 9.

The more I play episode 9 the more I like it. Love the party, the character interactions. Tommy has made me laugh more than once. The music has grown on me as well. It always fits with the scene. Dare I say that I am being won over by Zoey as well? In real life I'm not a huge fan of lots of tattoos on women, especially in some of the places she has them but the vibe I get from her character in ep9 has started to win me over. Only making it harder to choose among all the girls in this game. That is one of my all-time favorite things about BaD. It makes it hard to choose. The great thing is I can just play again and choose someone else. Too bad life wasn't more like BaD! LOL.

Question: Knock on wood, but do you have any contingencies in place for the game should you meet an untimely demise (ex. designating someone to finish the story or tell the player base how it would've ended)? I know it can be a morbid question to ponder, but I really do want to see your vision for the game fulfilled. There have been a lot of shows and books that are discontinued because the writer passed away.

Yep, unless someone gives you their saves (which I don't recommend for security reasons) you'll have to start from the beginning, however you can enable skips for previous dialogue so you can just make the choices fairly quickly

Did you click the upper right? The default is to look for the patreon game save. If you click that upper right, it'll switch to the steam deck saves. If that's not working then I have nothing, but I thought I'd suggest in case you missed it.

The computer I was playing S2 on died. I have just downloaded and installed v 0.9.1 on a new computer (Mac mini M1, OS 13.1). Is there any way to start a new game (no saves imported) in v 0.9.1?

Yeah man, I’ve saved it multiple times to transfer and it still doesn’t show anything. I reckon it must be an issue with the steam deck, my theory is the season 3 game is trying to find my save by looking for the ‘ C:/Users\username\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\BeingaDIK’ folder, but because that folder doesn’t exist on the deck it assumes I don’t have any saves (on the deck everything just saves into the normal steamapps/common section).I guess I’ll just have to wait till the full season 3 comes out on steam…no worries brother, thanks for trying to help. 10/10 this game is a masterpiece and I have nothing but love for you for making it 🤙🏻

I’m running the game on steam deck and even though I’ve already finished season 2 and transferred my episode 8 conclusion, season 3 can’t find any saves at all. Josy and Jill, are my main one and two. Maya moved, into my top three right along with Nicole. Replaying my Josy and Maya path from Season 1, I unlocked a scene with the D*** of all D**** Tibalt. Had his dad and mom in the scene at the mansion I never saw before when I played before, maybe I missed it. I never was into Sage but she has moved into my top 5 also after playing for as long as I have. I'm still a Jill simp.

Jill/Josy? that would be my dream couple or even throuple although I suspect that's not what you're referring to, but I got a little hopeful :). I went the Josy/Maya path because Josy all the way for me. Sage is hot and can be sweet, but not really able to be open about relationships and the dik path is fun but i'm really more neutral/chik in my play style. I hate that the game seems to read that as submissive or lesser in bed though. The sex scene with bella... had me 180 on her. she was already cold and then wtf! i can't imagine a continued path with her to be worth it for me as she's very opposite of my own personality. She would have been flipped on her ass with me in charge or i'd have been out the door (despite me being "chik"). so, i probably won't see her path further. I do hope she finds joy though. her fierce passion for jill is awesome and I respect that.

No, DPC just did a really good job with the hairstyle for Josy for the Halloween party in my opinion. Josy looks cute/pretty in it. Whichever you'd prefer. I cannot wait for the next episode. I'm dying to see the reaction to Rusty to Jill being MC's girlfriend and Tommy's reaction to MC having sex with Josy or Maya being with Josy half naked. I'm not sure. I'm just looking forward to the next episode.

The appdata folder is hidden by default. You must delete the file in there too or it won't have any effect. Open a folder and type %appdata% in the search bar to reach that folder immediately. Then find RenPy/BeingADIK folder to delete the save

I haven't used mods with any versions. This new Season 3 Ep 9 no matter how many times I unzip the file once I load my game and try look at my 2D or Mixed Art rewards it instantly does the Exception Occured and I have to click rollback, Ignore or Quit if it won't rollback?

I am having the same issue.

I was so happy when this update was released. I of course did the Jill path first and Josy and Maya. Those have been my top three until I did this. Bella moved into my top 3. It became Jill/Josy as my Number 1 and Maya and Bella as my two and three and Sage moved to my top four. Josy's hair looks really amazing in this update. You did a really good job on Josy on this update.

Think I encountered an interesting bug? It is showing scenes for both the Bella and Jill routes, regardless of playthrough that was imported. Im not oppose to seeing both, but its definitely confusing trying to follow the story. Edit to add: confirmed bug and its causing a loop. Unable to progress forward

You definitely need seasons 1 and 2 as many choices matter and the story is continued. Would not make any sense to play season 3 without the prior ones. Get it. It's worth the money. Skip a few beers or cappuccinos or whatever in the next weeks and that's it.

So far I've gone through all of the options - Jill, Bella, Josy/Maya, Sage, and Others (in that order) and I see a lot of potential conflicts based upon choices. Each story is taking on a life of its own. I'm not exactly sure how MC's tool didn't fall off during the Others line. The music is outstanding (don't know where you find the time to select it). There are still three scenes and a whole bunch of renders that I haven't unlocked, but will definitely invest more time in reruns. DPC, you are definitely the King of AVNs. Excellent work.

10 is for beginners ;-) You can get so many variations WITHIN one branch by playing differently and taking different choices (from the very beginning of the game). You would be surprised, how some of those choices are coming back to you.

This episode was so much fun, great great work!! I have 10, yes 10 different ways to proceed to the next episode, that is nuts! But I have to ask, why so much free roam? It seems like one would end and another would begin without anything in between. The free roams were fun to do and trust me I know that a map of the house perfectly by now. I have been playing in nonstop practically. To say I have been looking forward to this release will be a huge understatement and it certainly delivered. Now that I have finished it and left with such cliffhangers and need to know what happens next!! Awesome job!

Wooooo! Played throughout the whole night, got maybe like 20-30 min of a nap (going to work atm). I finished 2 paths. Bella and Others (basically just a F everyone route. That's including playing Interlude twice. I didn't know you can skipped from the main menu. All my saves started at the beginning of Interlude, I didn't played the Interlude at all until yesterday). I still got 3 (possible even more paths now, depending on how ep 9 "others" paths branch out).

Everything works perfect, the new music menu is great and we can finally see the game version on the main menu. For people who come from the GOG version and have errors I tell you how I installed it. Before: Folder "Being a DIK" and inside the game files (episodes 1-8) purchased on GOG. Now: Folder "Being a DIK" and inside I created two folders "Season 1-2" (where I moved all the old files) AND a new folder "Season 3" where I put the downloaded Interlude from here and episode 9 and the future ones. The only bad thing is that if you finish episode 8 you have to exit the game and open from the new ".exe" but even if it cuts the game experience it takes less than 20 seconds.

Is that save from the Interlude? If you have a backup version of the Interlude, you can load that save from it and save at another part of the episode. The only spot that is 100% guaranteed to work is when you save at the end of every episode.

Hey everyone, quick question. I patched the game following the instructions in the patch folder. When I open the game, I see Version 0.9.1 in the bottom right hand corner. I was a player from Steam. Couldn't wait for a chance to advance my saves. The interlude was a nice way of bringing Zoey back into the MC's life. After going through that and experiencing Ep. 9 I can't wait for what's next. Choices have even subtle impacts on the story as it goes forward. I love seeing the variations. Fictional characters that I love, like, or even loathe. That's good writing. As much as I love aspects of all the main women, Zoey is definitely a much deeper and more interesting character than I was anticipating. The music in this was so good too. I can't say enough about this game.

I downloaded the full version i played the season 3 a few times and might i say amazing job as always. but i wanted to start from the beginning and i was not able to. I don't have the first 2 seasons anymore because i figured i could start over when the 3rd season came out i had a few saves but not enough for all the story lines. Anyway i can start a new game in the full download or do i have to get season 1 and 2 again?

Anyone else have "story" rewards that didnt unlock? I've got 1 on Josey and a few on Jill that I am assuming were to unlock at certain points but didnt. I have josey sitting at 19/20 so maybe its something I missed but Jill has 10 of these "story" rewards that didnt unlock and I've went right to the end on her branch. Other than that, loved the episode!

Save files are kept in two locations: 1. In your "game" folder 2. In C:/users/your name/AppData/Roaming/RenPy/Being A DIK If you want to delete everything and start fresh, you must delete the save files in both locations.

Mods tainted your saves. Wipe saves, restart. Don't use illegal mods.

Thanks for the reply DPC I know your super busy. So when I follow the instructions that came with it all works until I get to step 7. When I Ctrl-Click the app, the normal "open" option doesn't pop up. I have the option "open man page" which when I click that, it pops up with a screen that says "no manual entry for BeingADIK" and the other option is click "services" and then "open" and I do it and nothing happen. I managed to finish 2 playthroughs yesterday, one of my 'other' branches and Isabella's. Loved the humor of dozens of situations, some were heartwarming and Derek was... Derek. Also loved the structure of this episode, the choice of new musics and the little extras you hid here and there. But! The best thing for me: the outfits and mostly Lily's. I love that way of dressing for women a lot and glad you brought some into the game, would be great if we could see some similar in the future. In short, EP9 worth the long wait time and I can hardly wait what you have in store for us in the future. Thanks Doc, 11/10. Stay safe!

found another bug, first is a black screen on Quinn lewd scene, " image 'ep9 quinn lewd34b' not found " was on the top left corner. second is there were two text messages from zoey on first free roam on sage's path with neutral affinity( I have DIK affinity and neutral affinity save file for sage's path and the bug only happens on neutral affinity path). then when I tried to restart the playthrough it became three then I restarted again and it became four.

Gents I'm at a loss. I've been trying for the past few hours to get this game working. I've tried all the options posted in the file that comes with the download.....nothing. I tried deleting the download and downloading form a different site. Nothing. Getting age verified on discord isn't an option (I'm well over 18) so I don't know what to do. Only things I haven't tried are deleting the first 2 seasons and then trying again with this episode. Or do I have to have the interlude downloaded for this to work? Haven't had any issues like this with any downloads from DPC or any other dev on here so thats why i'm lost. Thanks for any help given. It's my blind run resulting in Jill branch with some other messed up relations. I laughed, I was sad. I ditched our christmas party at work today (wasn't in the mood anyways). So I found another bug too, either that or my game is just messed up. I imported a sage path game and when I get through the talking phase between Tommy and Jacob right at the start, the game just crashes.

Hey DPC, I'm trying to open the game on my Mac but I'm getting "The application 'BeingADik' cannot be opened" error message. I'm trying to follow the installation instructions but when I try and change permission with "chmod -R +x ./BeingADIK.app/*" but the terminal window is telling me that there is no such file or directory. Try another mirror. If you're downloading with the MEGA app, try setting the incoming connections to "6" and unlimited transfer in Settings.

I can see a reason to start back at Ep1 just to try to get the outcomes I want in Ep9 if that is possible. Further game play is needed to be sure but I gotta say. Anyone know why the transfer speed is extremely slow for Mega? its only downloading at 190KB/s total download time is 11 hours. This is the first time it has ever been this slow for me.

Still no go on my end, on a Mac with OS Ventura. It was seamless when I installed version 8.03, but I'm not able to do anything other than unzip the download. Tried doing the terminal method with no success, cannot join the Discord server either. All very frustrating (I'm also an idiot when it comes to technology), because the game is fantastic and I don't want to wait two years for the Steam release--hence my $25 a month pledge. I'll keep at it, but may need a little direct assistance at some point.

If your thousands of miles away from your PC and thought you could play on you phone on release day think again 😔 oh well I'll have to wait I guess 👹

That's as intended, RenPy has some limitations regarding minigames. You can save before it, but not during it. You can always sell items if you change your mind about what you bought.

So far absolutely cool. However, it seems it is not possible to save the current state within the party planning game? I had to quit in the mid of filling the grid, saved and wanted to continue now. But the grid is empty again after loading. Not a big deal, but I don't know if this is how it is supposed to be or not.

Open the folder the game is in press control and click on the application and click open. If it doesn't open again repeat and it will have a message saying unable to verify developer and open anyway and then enjoy playing

Yes. You did what this post warns you not to do. You will have to fix it by redownloading both games and keeping them separate.

To my knowledge it extracted completely. I downloaded and installed the patch but also downloaded the full game if anything crazy happened. I just closed the game before putting that message in. If I come across it again I’ll definitely take a picture of it and send it to you.

Oh yeah! My first official Up-To-Date release (I became a Patron on Aug, 2 of this year, so I didn't have to wait long, like all these fine people). It took me a week to collect all the special renders, rewards, get all the scenes to 100% and played multiple playthroughs. It was a long, tiring but Fantastic week! Let's F-IN GO!!!!
