A user on itch.io is impersonating me and selling my games illegally under the name "drpinkcakegame".
If you bought the game on itch.io, you might have downloaded malware. Those versions aren't mine. I'd recommend you delete what you bought, demand a refund, and report the game to staff on itch.io.
I'm trying to reach itch.io about this, but they are acting very slow, and the whole situation has given me insomnia and is making me feel deflated and disgusted to the point that I'm not fit to work.
You can help me by reporting drpinkcakegame on itch.io for copyright infringement, theft, and fraud.
My apologies to anyone who bought the game from itch.io thinking it was the real deal. What saddens me the most is how this scammer is fooling honest customers/players/fans with a cracked product and fake communication pretending to be me.
My games are only allowed for resale on Patreon, Steam, and GOG.com with the handle "DrPinkCake".
My only social media outlet is twitter.com/DrPinkCake
My only discord server is https://discord.gg/KyCc5E4
Anything else that uses my name or product names is fake, not endorsed, and/or doesn't come from me.

EDIT. Thank you, brothers and sisters, for reporting him to the point that his links are removed. I don't know if it's permanent or just an automatic response to the reports, and I still want answers from itch.io about this. His main page (gender assuming at its finest) is still up, and you can report that too. I didn't even get the time to post a public tweet about it before the links were gone. You guys are the best.

In a way it should be flattering but overall, it should turn your stomach. The flattering part is that you are being recognized and you are popular. It speaks to the quality that we all already knew we were getting. The stomach-turning part is that your hard work is not being appreciated by the boneheads who fell for his scam in the first place. I thought that a Patreon, "Indie", developer would not have such a thing happen to them, but it appears high quality work garners much attention even from undesirable people. Some people just have no respect for the hard work of others. They just see a way to steal from them. It sickens me. I hope this doesn't sour you on being the amazing dev that you are. It would really, and I know this will sound weird but it's true, put a hole in my life if you were discouraged from doing your game because of this. I have grown to love your story telling and your characters. Like I have said before when I open the game and start another playthrough it's like getting together with friends again. When I hear the music, it puts me in a good mood, and I look forward to playing the adventure again. I hope this bonehead gets what is coming to him or her as I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. We here all know that there is ONLY ONE DPC! You are it and I hope that you can bounce back from this, keep the chin up and keep the eyes forward so that your initial vision for the game comes to its true fruition. Afterward, everytime you have to face an ID check, wether it's the police of the custom, they see that at some point in time your identity was stolen (they have zero details, just a warning telling them that you may not be who you say you are) thus every ID check takes a lot longer

Some people have audacity to steal you, snatch their head until their last breathe. In all cases , this situation is special, you are the source of the game they are just fake copies it shouldnt affect you badly, and I think now you re enough rich to engage enough advocates to hunt them across all the universe, just never give up in this situation, it just should make you more popular, their current gain is just a step, you will get it back when all this should be finished. It should finally just make your name more popular. Scammers never win.
