I'm thinking that Daz3D has "reflection" code written into the encoding program. So the scene would be set up (characters, lighting, enviro, etc.), and the object, in this case the mirror, would have reflection tag applied to it. Once the angle is set, and the image is encoding, the encoder would apply the reflection tag, and we get a mirror image.
So what I'm trying to say is, I think there is only one set of characters (one Maya) in the scene, but the mirror object, once encoded, displays the reflection...thus two maya, one a mirror image.

It's a testament to DPC's talent putting this image together so flawlessly. There are "two" Mayas in the picture, the one we see the front of (mirror image) and the one in the "real world" so to speak. We as players/observers are in the "real" side enjoying her, while her gaze enjoys the attention looking at the MC's image in the mirror, not an expert myself, but this does not seem easy to pull.

Outstanding render. And judging by the smiles on their faces, I'm assuming it's probably along the Josy/Maya pathway. I doubt they would have those looks if MC dropped the bomb about Jill, or Bella, or Sage.
