I am on my third playthrough from Ep 1 - Ep 8. The character development is great. The game is funny, sad, and just freaking amazing! The toughest part is waiting. I am amazed how immersive this game has been for me. The most I have played in one day is about fourteen hours, lmao! I am working on my third different relationship but want to wait for the Ep 8 walkthrough to make sure of my choices. I don't want to mess it up. Thanks DPC. Amazing game!

Just remember to go into your Apple Pay or Google ay settings after the download has finished (confirm you have it first) and cancel membership...it will sign you up to a sub and there is no way around this...it is a pain, but hopefully worth it...hope this helps someone as all other download options are taking upwards of 8 hours! (13 hours for me last I checked!)

To anyone having issues with Mega...It is unfortunately a pretty average system and the payment options right now are either down or just flat out not working - has been an ongoing issue that you can read about online if interested. That said, you can get around this by downloading the Mega app to your phone and either paying with Apple Pay or Google pay to get around their flawed system...just bare in mind it will ask for access to your files on your phone, if you say yes to that, it will start downloading all your phone files which will get in the way of your download of Being a DIK!

Exactly my point. I feel like this game brings me more joy than a big game like Forza Horizon 5 or Battlefield 2042 or any other big game out there. Those games I play like a month or so until it get boring. And I feel that it has been so for many years and that makes me not hype anymore. But Being a Dik brings me joy to play. Literally I sit in silence in my home at night and laughing quietly trying not to wake my gf up (it's not that she care about me playing this game, it is just that she prefers it quiet here over night) and that feeling I don't get by normal mainstream games. This is the most wonderful heartfilled game in years! Huge games could learn something from this, and that is making a game with personality!

This has been asked and answered multiple times in the comments. It'll be released when DPC is fully ready to release it. Everyone has got to do a better job reading before asking repeat questions. If it's annoying to see this question asked over and over as an observer, it has to be worse for DPC to have to answer it over and over. As we all know DPC works by themselves (as far as story, animation, coding ect.) with a select group of people who do additional proofreading, and beta testing only after DPC has tested each episode and is sure it's stable enough to move past its (pre-alpha ???) stage. For patrons who are interested in all things Badik one of the best sources of information is the discord server under the membership tab (bear in mind exact times and dates in all forms of communication are on an "as soon as it's ready" basis) DPC as far as I can tell from my many discussions on discord with the Badik community is UTC/GMT +1 but DPC has to upload WIN/LINUX/MAC versions of the complete game Episodes 1-8 (for those who do not know it's a fresh install since it's run on an updated version of Ren'py...saves will still carry over from the end of episode 7 save game here splash screen) to multiple hosting sites. Has to download install several times and ensure the hosting sites are stable and no packets are lost, all singlehandedly. A massive undertaking for a small team but astronomical for a single person. I'm as excited as the next person but I would rather a successful launch then forcing a timetable on DPC and having something fall through the cracks.

I don' want to speak for DPC, but typically the download links are not available right at midnight. Episode 7 became available around like 1:15am I believe. DPC isn't American so his timing on posts and episode releases isn't based on EST as far as I can tell.

I have a premium account with Mega, it is totally worth it, i only use it to download visual novels, so i tried out 1 month, downloaded VNs like crazy for that first month and never went through half the month bandwidth....so i paid for a whole year........best money i paid in a long time. Save transfer will be automatic if you played on that PC before. But let's say you try to load a game in v080 and it doesn't work, because you saved at a different spot than the end of the episode. What you can do to fix it is to load it in v072 and play a bit longer to a different scene and save again. This save might work in v080. You only need v072 to fix your botched saves, after you see that every save you want works, you can remove that old version if you want.

He already said that he's preparing for the future release of season 3 which will be a standalone release (the game code and not not a standalone game, to be clear) but will use the save from this release; thus, this release will be full release only. What is not clear if this version will allow us to use our saves and then update it for future releases... I think it will be so, otherwise it wouldn't make too much sense to make us play everything again now so we don't have to do it later...

I think season 1 was around 6-7 GB. So season 2 is roughly 12-13 GB. Episode 8 is somewhere around 4.5 GB. I was curious, and this is fucking cool, episode 8 is just a little bit bigger than episodes 2 and 3 combined. And episode 8 is only about 1,000 renders off from episodes 1-3 combined.

The new episode will require a fresh download because DPC upgraded some things. But as stated above, you can just continue using your old saves, they should be loaded automatically.

They will load automatically. They are stored in an AppData folder on your PC.

If you can, I would keep the old version for a while. The reason is that you can fix any saves that don't work on it. All saves at the end of the episodes will work with v0.8.0, but if you for any reason chose to save at another spot, they might not work. And you can fix that by loading the save in let's say v0.7.2 and save at another spot, then load that save in v0.8.0, to pop it back into gear. That said, don't merge the folders or anything this time. Keep v0.8.0 clean and don't add any files at all to it.

I qualify for the December 3 release, but I'm wondering what you mean by 'Limited time', and why that is necessary. Also, will there be an option for those in the $5 tier who do not meet the dollar limit to get Episode 8 without upping their pledge? Personally, I'll be downloading the release as soon as I get notified of its availability. But I am puzzled by the extra restrictions being placed on a tier at this late date. Of course, Patrons can always up their pledge for a month and then drop it back as soon as they download the release. But still... I feel I need to point out here that the Rewards list for the $5 tier says nothing about 'Limited time' or any total pledge restriction.
