Status update Episode 6

This week I've been working on many different things. I spent two days posing animations and mastering my new workflow. All I can say is that it's working just as I had hoped for.
It's both faster to pose animations while making the movement more natural. I managed to pose 29 animations in two days, which is a new record for me.
I've been posing more static renders as well and writing code.
I revamped the Rewards/Scenes apps, which was needed now that more girls will be added as special renders. Here is a sneak peek of the Rewards app.
There's now a notification when you unlock a special render so you know which girl it was unlocked for.
I spent some time writing a checklist of what I need to do before the episode is complete.
The list is extensive. There's no other way to put it. Not that it says a lot to you, but I have approximately 160 bullet points of activities I need to do before the episode is complete.
One bullet point can be equal to writing/posing a scene or adding a feature to a scene and more. Some tasks are faster to complete than others and the list will likely change a bit as development progresses. But I have a better grasp of the scope of the episode now.
I will continue working as hard as possible on this checklist and report the progress weekly as usual.
Next week I'm going to let my PCs render while I will be focusing on writing code and dialogue.

2020-08-24 17:05:53 +0000 UTCSteam releases in seasons, so a group of 4 episodes. If you want to get the episodes, become a patron and download direct from DPC posts, then you can update as each episode releases. Steam saves will not transfer though, so will need to replay from beginning.

Those 2 scenes had not only superb angles and animations, but also a thrilling context. I also enjoyed Sarah's "order" scene but I wish it was longer..

2020-08-23 11:06:23 +0000 UTCOne shout-out I'd like to give to DPC's "directing" is the trashed library scene where Josy and Maya are working things out. The camera angles selected do a fantastic job of showing the MC as being all but absent, with the final element being Josy and Maya separating from a kiss to reveal the MC in the background. The selection of location and shirt was god-mode to make that reveal come off so well. Almost as good as my all time favorite directing scene from an otherwise not so good movie - Notting Hill (the "4 seasons" scene which should have gotten the director every award on the planet).

He rarely gets any attention at all and it seems like he upvotes his own posts more often than not. It's a nice touch to show how his struggle to be taken seriously is at odds with his general impotence.

The "adult" characters were far more interesting to me than the childish antics that the dik characters created. I guess that's why I like the balance as much as I do, you can focus on either side of it and get something out of it - a rarity in these sorts of games. When games can combine many elements well and still provide a good plot, it's just plain fun. DPC creates highly complex interactions that work so well that I can't think of any other plot based game I've spent more time on (except perhaps the Mass Effect series).

The PC gaming industry is in a really bad place right now, the focus is on cash grab multiplayer games. I miss when we would get several good single player releases per year, now they seem few and far between. Here's to hoping Cyberpunk 2077 is as good as Witcher 3. Its the only other game I am looking forward to besides new episodes of Being a DIK.

For me personally i like the Dik run better, the DIKS have no tough people in their frat. It's fun to fill that roll and fight the jocks. Plus even though you get hotter girls on chik run imo you get with more girls on dik run, plus being an ass on cluck is both funny and fun lol

I might need to do another run through on DIK mode (I have saves for all combinations of major routes and tracks on the CHICK and Neutral sides already - roughly 80 save points from about 20 various combinations). PS: we should have a vote for the best/funniest moment in the game - my vote would be for the rendering of Bella and MC looking up at the pancake on the ceiling. Apart from how it must help you, I hope it means you can do more in less time and then we can get more episodes. Being a DIK is not just my favorite AVN or game in this genre, it's one of my all-time favorite gaming experiences, the Witcher 3 of adult interactive entertainment. There are a small handful of other titles out there that are good, but nothing comes close to what you're doing here. Hats off to you, sir!
