Weekly Update - 1/15/25

You know, when I talked in Quaranteam about the US invading Canada, it was sort of done as a tongue-in-cheek joke between writers, but the longer both the real world goes and the QT-verse goes, it seems like the joke gets less funny as the potential for it actually happening goes up. If it happens, I'm sorry. That said, I dropped QT2:35 last night before I went to bed. We were doing some tinkering with it up to the last minute. I'd hoped to have it up a few minutes before midnight, but it needed a bit more editing before I wanted to turn it loose on all of you. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I will say the list of potential names for the twins was about twice as long as the version that saw print. Being longer didn't make it funnier. For those of you who've been asking what a Team looks like under SSS (Second Sergei Swerve), that'll be what the next chapter, QT2:i7, will focus on. That'll be out before the end of the month, hopefully. I'm also hoping to get next month's QT:UM to its commissioner before the end of the week. Not sure what I'm writing for Friday yet.

I'm going to throw up a poll tomorrow for what the You Decide! for the month will be and I genuinely don't know what to expect, although best guess is it'll be either Before The Storm or Threadbinders. Still, it's anyone's game. I was delighted when Captains' Days won for December, but I certainly wouldn't mind coming back to one of the other stories we haven't touched on in a while either.

I decided not to post The Turn At Sin River's first chapter to public sites and am going to hold onto it as a Patreon exclusive until that story is finished, then whenever it's eventually done, I'll release the whole thing as a solid one-piece to the free sites six months later. That's partially since we haven't come back to it and partially because people have been complaining about the shorter length of my drops on some of the free sites, so this one'll keep.

The morning after last week's posts went up, I woke up to a bunch of people complaining about cliffhangers, eager for the next one. I'd forgotten that 2:26 does that. Ha! Anyway, 2:27 is only a couple of weeks away, or you can always sign up for the Patreon and read it and ten more chapters of QT2 right now. Anyway, here's what to expect to the free sites for the next month or so: 1/18 - QT: Unbroken Mold 3; 1/25 - QT2:27; 2/1 - Neon Stonehenge 8; 2/8 - QT2:28; 2/15 - Captains' Days 3; 2/22 - NS 9. 

For those asking, I've gotten lucky - none of my LA friends or ex-coworkers have been affected by the fires, but that just makes me lucky. if you can, send help. Those folks need a ton more help right now, as many of them have lost their homes and everything they own. I know everyone likes to think of people who live in California as rich and famous, but most of us are still only a few paychecks over our lives falling apart, so it doesn't hurt to help out.

Anyway, take care of yourselves out there. I'm going to go and play poker for the first time in over a month, so I'm sure to lose horribly but at least I'll have a good time doing it. See you again on Friday.
