Weekly Update - 7/24/24

I'm still working on the next chapter of C.A.R.P., but we're basically getting close to the endgame with that story now, so I have to be very careful what I do with the story, especially to make sure it's all consistent with what I've written so far. It'll be coming as soon as I finish it. There's only three chapters left after this one - the two for the senior year, and the last one, which might be extra-long, to cover all the things I need to with it. So, we'll keep that in mind as we move forward.

I'd hoped to be a little further along with commissions than I am, but Pack 15 actually had a lot of finery to it that needed to get ironed out. It's in the hands of its commissioner now, will be out in Alpha next month and for all readers the month after that, as we're starting to get into some of the larger story. Commissions are a different muscle to exercise - oftentimes I'm working from an outline or a structure in advance - and that can be tricky, because I can't stretch or flex sections as I see fit, but it's good to be challenged. I'm working on the other ones as well.

The current agenda is Breakpoint after CARP and QT2, although I may flip those two around, depending on how the next couple of days go. Friday and Saturday I'm fairly booked (I'm running a number of Magic: The Gathering prereleases on Friday and Saturday) but I'm going to also keep writing in the margins. During downtime at those events, I can work on outlines in my note file in my phone.

All that said, as much as I think Biden's been one of the best presidents in my country's history (and statistically, the country agrees with me), I did let out a sigh of relief when he decided not to run again and handed the nomination to his VP Kamala Harris, who will do a hell of a job. And if you're thinking about voting for the other guy, you should go read up on Project 2025, and realize you're actively voting against me and my writing, as the other guy wants to outlaw this kind of thing. So maybe keep that in mind. It's on page 5. You don't even have to look that far into the document.
