Weekly Update - 1/24/24
Added 2024-01-24 23:12:14 +0000 UTCSo here we are... about a week away from QT2:20, and I've already put a ton of work into it. The episode will even come with its own Spotify playlist. I've been slowly chipping away at it on and off for weeks now, and I think everyone will be satisfied with it when it drops. If not, well, I'm only human after all. There's a lot going on in the chapter, so get ready to get comfortable. Andy's wedding day has been at the top of the lists of things people wanted to see in Book 2, and I want to make sure everyone enjoys it.
Also, for those of you who've been asking, I've not forgotten about Brewster's Brood and the next chapter will be coming on Friday or Saturday. I'm doing what I can to keep all the plates spinning, but some of them are running a little slower than others. Brewster's Brood is the next thing coming out, certainly. I'm behind on commissioned works again, so I'm trying to get moving on those, but there's also a big family trip coming in February that I'm having to do a little bit of planning for, because it's someplace tropical, and I've never really been any place tropical before. I'll still be trying to get stories done - hell, I've got two very long flights associated with the trip - but I'm also just going to be enjoying paradise for the first time. Maybe I'll take plenty of pictures to inspire further Breakpoint chapters. But yes, I'm aware that I need to work on: Pack, Devil's Details, Fertile Grove and the final chapter of QTAA (with 9 dropping to Alphas probably end of next week).
I'm also going to announce at this point that I will be starting up another Quaranteam title soon - it's a commissioned work (the last commission I took before closing them off), so I expect that maybe next month, after I finish the third chapter of it for the commissioner, I'll release the first chapter to Patrons. It's called Quaranteam: The Unbroken Mold. It's going to lean into more of the weird science elements of the QT universe, but I don't want to talk about it too much in advance in order to not spoil the surprises. The commissioner came to me with a laundry list of concepts they wanted, and I had to cross out a number of them, but as I've always said, constraint breeds creativity. From what I couldn't do we found the seed kernel of a story I could do. I'm working on the second chapter for its commissioner right now (in addition to like four other things...) Needless to say, it will unravel slowly and grow more complicated as it goes on, but should be fun.
QT2:i2 dropped on the public sites, and of course, Billy continues to be a big hit. I don't need/want more commissions at this point, but after I get my shit back onto some sort of a regular schedule, I might consider taking on an additional commission to do a Billy-centric spinoff. A lot of people seemed to really like Billy's story, and I imagine there's probably a ton of mileage to be milked out of showing a college campus coming back to life post-DuoHalo.
Anyway, the more time I spent writing a weekly update, the less time I'm spending writing, so let me get back to what y'all would much rather I be doing. Here's the list of what's coming publicly for the next month: 1/27 - QT: Aisling's Antics 3, CARP 5; 2/3 - The Fertile Grove 2; 2/10 - QT2:11; 2/17 - QT2:12; 2/24 - CARP 6; 3/2 - Before The Storm 8.
