Weekly Update - 10/18/23

I'm about halfway through QT2:16 right now and will have it either before I go to bed tonight, or sometime tomorrow midday. We've got Andy in LA! So I do want to get that right. We'll have a timeskip coming up relatively soon in the storyline, and as expected, QT2:20 will probably be the only QT2 chapter in the month that it drops, because it will be the wedding, and because somehow I always seem to write Chapter 20s that get to be enormous.  Also, I'm updating the Cast of Characters for Book 2, but I don't think I'll have enough time to get that done for QT2:16, but assume it'll start being included by the time we hit QT2:17.

I've got two big projects, one Patreon related and one DayJob related that are both on deadlines, so I'm going to try and get through those over the next week. That means I've been a little frazzled, and I apologize if I've been bad about getting back to people via email or messages. I'll try and get caught up as soon as possible.

Also need to let people know that A Pack Of His Own is on temporary hold, as its commissioner is experiencing some medical concerns that, as they well should be, are more important than writing. I've been told that it'll be a temporary thing, but I probably owe the commissioner one more chapter anyway (they already have one more that hasn't been made public yet) so I'm going to try and get one out to them within the next month. The story's not going to end, but I'll see what I can do about putting a bow on the end of act 1, just in case the hiatus turns out to be a long one. I'm wishing that commissioner the best.

I've got Breakpoint on the calendar for Friday and I'll throw up the poll for the next You Decide! for tier 4s and up, which'll go up on the 27th. Now, full disclosure, I will be basically be MIA from 26th-30th -- I mean, if you can find me and want to say Hi! more power to you. I'll be wearing my guillotine pendant the whole time, and I should be relatively easy to track down - I'll just be with, like, 20,000 other people up in Seattle, WA, at the Climate Pledge Arena, attending The International 2023, the yearly Dota2 championship. I've been playing Dota 2 a very long time now, and the guild I'm one of the guildmasters decided we wanted to actually meet up and attend in person, so I'll be flying up there a week from tomorrow and back down to the Bay on the following Monday. I'm cheering for Nouns esports - I was SO damn excited when they knocked last year's champions Tundra down to the lower bracket during the placement finals, absolutely defying all expectations that North American Dota was just gonna fall apart yet again. All that said, I still have some time to spend in airports, so I'll try and get writing done there while I can. I'll check in, but the better Nouns do, the more distracted I'll be. But if you're there, keep an eye out for a guy with a silver guillotine around his neck, and if you see him (me!) and want to say hi, feel free. Just come up to me and say, "Hey Dev!" 

Public release schedule for the next few weeks - I won't forget! Here's what's coming over the next month and change: 10/21 - CARP 4, 10/28 - QT: McCallister's Madness (finale), 11/4 - QT:PT 13, 11/11 - QT2:7, Morgana's Gift 16, 11/18 - A Pack Of His Own 4.

Anyway, that's where everything stands for the time being, and I hope you're all doing well. I know people have worried about my health with the sudden resurgence of DayJob stuff, but let me tell you that the big project I'm working on right now is something I started up years ago and didn't know that I'd ever get a bite at, so I'm very delighted to having to be banging out a pilot script for it, even if it is on short turnaround. It'll probably get shot and no one will ever see it but hey, it'll be nice to have a dead pilot under my belt. You know what I mean. Take care of yourself!
