Weekly Update - 5/31/22
Added 2023-06-01 04:22:55 +0000 UTCNo! I'm not still crying over the Ted Lasso finale, you're still crying! (Okay, maybe I am still crying. Goddamn that landed hard.)
Seems like people really liked our first chapter of Amor Ex Machina, and while I do imagine that story has a set number of chapters ahead of it, I wasn't comfortable calling my shot on how many at launch. I want to play it out and see how it goes. Are there shades of If I'm Honest to it? Definitely, but I think you'll find Ali and Harvey are very different on a lot of things. (I'm much more likely to trust Harvey than I am Ali...)
This month has got a bunch of things I can't wait to dig into creatively. I'm seeing Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse Part 1 tomorrow night, and it's already been getting rave reviews. Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny looks great and has been getting good-to-great reviews, so I can't wait for that either. I'm probably going to go see the damn Flash movie, despite the concerns I have about the legal things its lead actor has allegedly done over the last couple of years, because the lure of Keaton being Batman again is just too damn strong to resist. Also, it's about fucking time, but Secret Invasion starts up late June, and I cannot tell you how crazy excited I am for THAT. Marvel plus 70s spy thriller plus Invasion of the Body Snatchers? It's, like, all my jams, in one great big jelly roll. Winter Soldier remains my favorite MCU film, so if this series gets even half that good, we're gonna be one happy writer. Also Diablo IV is due out in a few days. And the rumors are that the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion might be out in June or July, and that will consume my life, full stop.
Anyway, stuff's still coming and I'm still writing!
My public schedule for releases for the next several weeks is as follows: 6/3 - Seven Secrets Of Mr. Magpie 3, 6/10 - Quaranteam 2:2, 6/17 - Devil's Details 6, 6/24 - Morgana's Gift 14, 7/1 - Brass In Pocket.
As for your weekly music wrap up, I saw The Cure live (not my first show of theirs) on Monday, and the new songs they were playing sound amazing, so hopefully Robert Smith will eventually just put the new album out already! Until then, I leave you with one of my favorites that they don't often trot out, but played on Monday!
